That's a tough one. Leonard knows the Big 10. Schumann and Robinson are excellent recruiters with Robinson not having experience as a DC. Which has the most experience operating the type of defensive scheme Rhule wants to run? Which is most likely to remain for the longer term? I'm leaning Schumann. It probably comes down to the one that fits best with Rhule and his staff. 

Which one would be your preference?

I don't know enough about Schumann or Robinson's approach to defense so I would lean toward Leonhard who has proven to be successful in the BIG AND should be able to land better recruits than he did at Wisconsin.  Nebraska often ends up with a higher 247 team ranking than Wisconsin.

With several players that transferred to Nebraska from Wisconsin, knew Leonhards defense, and instantly made an impact that was obvious when they completely shut Wisconsin down

I hope so.  Need someone proven who knows the Big 10.  After the underwhelming OL hire, I'm ready for some good news.

I’m really trying to not get my hopes up for Jim Leonhard. I think it’s an extremely skinny chance but, man, wouldn’t that be cool if he was a little pissed at Wiscy and came to Lincoln.

We have the OC thread going.    I thought I'd start a thread just for the DC once named and related Defensive coaching news. 

Any rumblings today on who may become the new DC.  Snow??.    I would like to see us get Robinson from A&M on the staff.  Not sure if he is at the DC level talent yet.  

I imagine all of the pieces need to be in place by Friday as the door opens up to recruiting next week.  Now that MJ is out of the picture, there may be more $$s available to lure

in the top defense coaches who agree with HCMATT's philosophy.
