Our newest member, @Ol' Dad, posts from the same IP as ADS/aspeedlin. Until this account was created ADS was the only guy who posted from that IP.

He claims to be 70 years old, but his posting style is that of a 20/30-something. Which ADS is.

I have him on Mod Preview right now so he won't be posting anymore. I've sent him two PMs asking him to "explain this account," but not telling him I know who he is. I want to see his reply before telling him I know he's ADS. If he starts probing for information or asks, "How did you know?" I'm going to suspect he is trying to help EZ-E get back on HuskerBoard by testing out the "create a new account and see if they notice" waters.

Trying to take notes from the master...

I noticed his style didn't jive with his age claim so I ran his IP and found it came up Pinnacle Bank and saw that was the same as ADS. Find Members didn't come up with ADS (Find Posts did) but did also find an "adspeedy" account that was never validated. Also thought that was odd as he should be retired. His email is a name so I tried googling his name with pinnacle bank but didn't come up with anything.

Also, thought it was a little on that DonDraper just signed up today and didn't wast any time getting into posting, following right along with Ol' Dad. IP resolves Verizon Wireless. Any oddities there?

 
knapp, I'm not sure it's ADS. As Mavric said, the IP address resolved to Pinnacle Bank, which I think means it's public. Walleye Hunting Husker has also both posted and voted from that IP.

Not sure what's going on with DonDraper and Ol' Dad, but I would have guessed EZ. ADS's never been a problem (that other account was probably an old one that he didn't never used; his current account is the one that was changed from aspeedlin...), but appears to know EZ from outside the board. So he may know something about this, but I don't see why he would play around with sock accounts when he can post from his own, whereas that's EZ's only option at this point.

I think I'd just leave it at the locked threads...guys can always get around ban filters (public IPs, data ...). If they get bored they won't bother trying. If EZ ever gets it one day (assuming it's EZ) he'll be back and stay out of trouble with none of us necessarily noticing. Although when he gets in trouble again, if we find out, the leash will be nonexistant. It's troublesome building online identities in communities you get attached to, and having to start over constantly. So he'll either get it, or he won't.

 
There was a third registration today - Hedonism Bot. I haven't had time to check the origin of the IP, but it's similar to DonDraper's. I suspect all three are the same person.

@zoogies - I'm certainly not out to get EZ-E, or Ethan, as he goes by in the world. I like the guy, had beers with him, and I wish "good Ethan" was still a member here.

I can take the Mod Preview off this Ol' Dad guy, but it's only a matter of time until this guy becomes a problem we'll have to deal with. You're saying give him more rope - OK, good idea. He's off Mod Preview.

So far his PMs to me have been "what gives?" and "I have rights." Nothing fishing-wise.

Oh no, I didn't mean to suggest that at all. I think he's used up his chances here, but since it'll always be possible for him to get around the filter, fighting back might be a waste of time and encourage more trouble, while making us look bad.

That's assuming it is EZ. Mainly, I don't think it's ADS. But it's all pretty weird and I don't know what the 'right' response is.

OK, well.... crap.

I'm removing Mod Preview. I think this is either ADS or someone associated with him. I'll be shocked if there aren't shenanigans. But zoogies is right - the same ISP shouldn't be the only thing we use to restrict the guy.

You're right. The email address for TheDevil is...kozzman555@gmail.com. I'm banning the account and IP. If kozzman555 complains (assuming the IP block affects him, which I doubt since the IP has not been used by kozzman), we'll remind him of the "one account per member" rule. Good catch - thanks!

Hi, I made a profile called "TheDevil" simply to make a post in the Jennifer Lawrence thread that was funny. I think my IP got banned, which includes this, my main acct. I was wondering if there was any way to unban my IP or at least let me know what the reason was. It's a total PITA to have change my IP just to log in and see what happened.
