HuskerBoard is an established group of people who have history together, inside jokes and behavioral trends that may seem unusual to a person new to the board. We are not unwelcoming to strangers, and have assimilated several hundred new, disparate personalities in the recent past. As a general rule of comportment, it is a good idea to expect to modify your behavior to the norms of the preexisting society, not expect them to modify to your expectations.

It is also a good idea, as a new member of any group, to presume the best of others until the worst is proven. The litmus test for "bad" must be stringent, and overtly obvious, before offense is taken. Jumping to conclusions and chastising the group over what amounts to misunderstandings or silliness... yeah. Not a good way to start.

Threatening to take your ball and leave on multiple occasions, then returning to squabble over and over is not a good idea. If you are offended, this may not be the message board for you. If it is not the board for you, better to leave quietly, gracefully, than to make a scene. Doing so says more about you than this board.

Finally, as the regulars have heard me say repeatedly, you need to understand where the problem lies. If you have a problem with another member, the problem lies between the two of you. If you have a problem with multiple members, the problem may be yours, may be theirs, or somewhere in between. If you have a problem with nearly ALL the members, then the problem is you. Understanding that is the foundation of getting along on a message board, or any group of people.

I find it funny, but I'm kind of immature.

What I find weird is that guys talk to each other about porn. At least, I've seen it happen on forums. I don't know if that's the case in real life. Maybe I'll make a post about it so I can talk about porn and see what it's like.
