Team HuskerBoard
Welcome and thanks for helping. First off, we appreciate everything you have done and will do for the board. All of the current mods feel a sense of purpose with the board. Some are out of state or have lived outside Lincoln/Omaha and know what it's like to scavage for every bit of Husker thing to latch onto as possible. We try our best, we do not bat 1,000, never will, but the cause is there. We know you will feel the same way.
As we have said in numerous posts, please do not feel obligated to be on the board any more than you already are. There are certain times throughout the year that are busier than usually for obvious reasons: August through February - season and recruiting. Do what you can, when you can.
My suggestion is stick to what you do best. Don't change. You'll notice each mod enjoys a certain aspect of the board and tends to gravitate there more than other parts of the board...please continue to do that. If you have ideas about the new board set up, please let us know. Enjoy your time here. Also, scan through many of the threads that were started in the general forum where all the mods post. You will see common theme amongst the threads. Many times we will simply post a potential "flamer" or "advertiser" to watch for. Other times it's an issue that may have risen and we need to discuss the best course of action. Or best of all, someone has posted a nudie pic and it needs to be moved (without a leaving the link) to the mod forum for viewing
. Please not somewhere it's go nuidity so the wives don't see. haha!!!!
Most importantly, don't ever feel you have to make decision on your own. Post the issue in the general forum, a few people chime in and we decide together. We are usually on the lenient side when it comes to banning/warnings and suspensions and things like that. Simply use common sense. If someone has signed up for an account, posted three times and all three are advertisements, we are going to ban ASAP. Many times if there is a potential flamer, all they need is a simple pm to let them know to relax a little or go to the woodshed and post. The amazing thing is our members do the most work. They do an great job of policing the board for all of us. There is a great deal of ownership over the board from our members. I feel that is because we leave many of the decisions up to them.
Again, I hope you find this fun and entertaining. Welcome to the board.
Thanks, Huskerboard mod team
