No big deal. We’ve scored more than that on the Buffs in one quarter. Scored 48 when Turner Gill was QB. I think it’s an NCAA record for TDs in one qtr.
dan hawkins coaching career, much like the mascot of his respective university, is near extinct.

i do not think anyone learned anything from the ku/cu game. maybe that turner is a better coach than hawkins, but we already knew that.

All of you thinking we will win the rest of our games easily or without issues are in for a HUGE surprise. Several people were saying things like this yesterday and look what happened. You are setting yourself up for a disppointment. SHOULD we win the rest of our games? Yes. WILL we? Hard to say. Depends which team shows up to those games.
By far the biggest variable is which qb "shows up". There's a two to three TD a game (& maybe more) difference between Tmart vs Green/Lee/etc.

Yeah, I thought we would be hearing an announcement from CU any day now. They'll dig up that buy-out money some how.

cu is embarrassing. seriously, first they can not buy out hawkins, who is destroying their program. second, they could barely afford to leave the big 12 early, almost had to stay an extra year. could you imagine that ever happening at nebraska? they do not have one big-time go-to donor? there is money in denver, cu is a good school, surely they have plenty of successful graduates. it is shocking the pac 10 took them, but i guess it was more than football, which is a good thing with such a big decision. (unless they took 'em to break up the big 12 and get texas, which would be a bad thing, but hilarious all the same).

Hawkins needs to be coaching intramurals...brotha. I hope they don't fire him until after the season, we could use the win that his coaching will ensure.

I know we can probably beat KU this saturday, but after last weekend, and SD St, i'm not going to overlook anyone.

But, if we beat hell outta CU friday after thanksgiving, CU will be heading to the PAC 10 looking for a coach.

at this point, i think ralphie would be a better coach.

Kansas runs off 35 straight in fourth to stun Colorado

Associated Press

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Kansas is used to great comebacks.

Take the 2008 NCAA basketball title game in which the Jayhawks rallied from nine points down in the final two minutes to beat Memphis in overtime.

But in football? Simple victories have been scarce, much less miracle comebacks.

That changed Saturday when the Jayhawks scored 35 unanswered points in the final 11:05 and overcame a 28-point deficit to beat Colorado 52-45. It was the greatest comeback in Kansas history.

"I'm still in shock," said Johnathan Wilson, who caught a 38-yard touchdown pass with 9:26 left to cut the Buffaloes' lead to 14 points after Kansas recovered an onside kick. "The Colorado guys were talking trash to us ... and I really had no response. All of a sudden we started making plays and playing our game and they shut up real quick. As soon as I scored that touchdown, I felt like we were going to come back and win."

The 35 points in the fourth quarter were the most in Jayhawks history.

James Sims scored four touchdowns, all in the final 19 minutes, including the game-winner of 28 yards with 52 seconds left. He finished with 123 yards on 20 carries.

"I don't want to have to be in that situation again, having to come back like that," Sims said. "We figured once we got the onside kick and brought it down and scored and the defense got that pick, we felt like we were in the game."

Linebacker Steven Johnson said first-year Kansas coach Turner Gill had a prophetic message at halftime with the Buffaloes up 35-10.

"He said, 'You all need to come out here and get ready for the best comeback ever,'" Johnson said.

After Wilson's TD reception, Kansas cornerback Tyler Patmon spearheaded the next two touchdowns. He returned a fumble 28 yards for a touchdown with 7:12 left to trim the lead to 45-38. Patmon intercepted a Cody Hawkins pass with 6:29 left, which set up the tying touchdown, Sims' 6-yard run with 4:30 left.

After Sims' go-ahead touchdown, the Buffaloes drove to the Kansas 7 in the final seconds. But two Hawkins passes into the end zone were incomplete.
This article is so stupid. Doesn't every time have their fair share of great comebacks? Its not just a Kansas Jayhawks thing.

In spite of the high Kansas is on right now, I gotta think the Huskers will enter the game focused and ready to dominate, especially if Martinez is back. I highly doubt we'll have much trouble, but then again this is the same KU team that beat Georgia Tech earlier this year. That might not be saying much, but KU has shown flashes, and that game is even more proof of that then their win over CU. Just saying...

Turns out the reason Hawkins got fired is he kept his son in the game passing in the fourth quarter with a huge lead so Cody could break the Colorado single-game passing record.
