I voted Lee last time around and I'm sticking to it..... IMO, Green's red-shirt depends if he earns the #2 job or #3........if he is #2, then NO redshirt, but if he is #3, then don't waste him.

If Green gets the number 2 job then Lee better look out, because Pelini and staff won't deny Green a redshirt if they end up thinking that Lee is going to be the guy for the next two years. The only way Green plays this year is if he is the starter next year.

Maybe in in 2010 we could have a nice Green/Lee tandem similar to the Frazier/Berringer tandem.

 
Barring injury, Lee will start entire season. I'm all for Green starting from Day 1, especially if we need a quarterback who has developed all sorts of bad habits and never realizes his true potential.

Conducting a poll to pick a starting QB so the coaches don't have to waste all that time evaluating them at practice.

I hope other teams haven't thought of this!

I didn't think Witt was the long term answer but I thought he could take care of the offense and make enough plays to get us through each game. The one thing with him was if he had to start running if the play broke down, that he was going to turn it over , either by fumble or int. Didn't look good under pressure.

Lee will probably "have" to start now. Forget the first two games, the true test is at V.Tech. Witt leaving, does leave this team in a bind, even if he wasn't the starter to start the season, at least there was a good back up to turn to, who knew this offense inside and out. Witt backing up Lee this year, would have made it easier to make a change during the game. Spano and Green need to step up quicker now. IMHO

I am getting tired of having to find a QB solution every season...wouldn't it be nice to have one that you know was "the man" for at least 3 years? I still think if one of the younger QB's steps up and shows he knows the system, and shows a little leadership, he can take Lee's job. But I think going in it is Lee's to lose.

I would sleep better at night if I knew who the quarterback was going to be for 3 straight years. Hopefully, Green will be that guy.

 
It's not a good sign if Cody Green is our starting QB next year. Anyone who wants him to start is basically saying I want the Huskers to suck in 2009.

Zac Lee was the top JUCO QB in the country back in 2006. Since then, he has been at Nebraska for two seasons, played scout team ball, and looked awesome in his limited performance against K-State. I realize my grandma would look good against K-State. But he had 2 carries for 17 yards and led NU on a scoring drive in the fourth quarter. His athleticsm was clearly evident.

2 weeks ago I posted how I believed Lee would win the starting job over Witt. IMO, Witt knew that would eventually happen as well. Green will not overcome Zac Lee. Some people need to take a step back and understand from an athleticsm standpoint, Zac Lee is every bit the weapon of a Cody Green. The only advantage Green has is a bigger body.

Lee runs a legit 4.5 and the strongest arm on the team. Next season will also be the 3rd season he's been at Nebraska.

How could anyone honestly want Cody Green to be the starter over Lee? Some of you are acting like Cody Green was the #1 QB recruit in the country.

:yeah i am just not ready to hand the reigns to a kid that has never played a down of college ball, he may be good and he may be a flop but for now Lee and Spano are 1 and 2 in my book.
