Northwestern Takeaways

Actually who you have played is a very good indicator. You mean to tell me your quality of competition is not a good indicator of how good you actually are?

It is a large factor in how good you look, I'd say a pretty small factor in how good you are. They wouldn't be giving up 4.5 YPP if they had played Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson. They would be giving up a lot less per play than those teams average though.

The only way to PROVE how good you are is by your competition.

Teams Alabama has played that plays into their YPP. Texas A&M, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn. All top 25 teams. The other half of their schedule is not rated but they have significantly more talent coming from the south. What makes you think Northwestern would slow down Alabama better than the horses those teams are running out on the field? Pipe Dream.

Northwestern does not have the horses any of these teams have. Northwestern is slow and not athletic enough to compete with those teams. Alabama would score 50 on Northwestern. So would Ohio State and Clemson.

You mean the Maryland team that put up 35 points and averaged 6.6 ypp against Penn State?

And put up 45 points and over 10 ypp against Minnesota?

You men the Maryland team that has an Alabama recruit playing QB?

Yeah, please tell us more about reality.
Reality

Penn State 0-3

Minnesota 1-2

Maryland is really tearing up some tough teams there. Combined 1-5

Ah, yes.  Discount anything that doesn't fit your narrative and only promote what does.  Good times.
Actually that is fact. Sorry you only like facts that fit your narrative.

Would you generally describe teams that are 0-3 and 1-2 as good teams?

I remember some of the pelini years destroying some powder puff teams early on and then thinking we had a badass team. Then finished 9-4 after the real competition began.

Sorry you are wrong. You are seriously going to look at statistics put up against 2 bad football teams and say those stats are evidence Northwestern is good?

That is literally why teams like UCF did not make the playoff in 2017. The wins and blowouts and stats meant nothing because the competition was s#!t. Don't even start by saying they beat Auburn in the bowl game. The same Auburn team that wasn't motivated to be there because they felt they should have been in the playoff.

Northwestern Schedule. This team could finish 7-1 and it wouldn't mean much to me. That has got to be the easiest schedule in the big ten.

Maryland

Iowa

Nebraska

Purdue

Wisconsin

Michigan State

Minnesota

Illinois
