The first instance I can find where this happened was in Carlfense's post HERE on 12/3/11. It's also the only time I can find it in one of his posts.

It appears frequently in posts by hskrfan4life and hskerholic, like more than 80%-90% of the time. I found one in one of MO_Husker_Fan's posts, but only once, like Carlfense.

It's not something coming from their IP, near as I can tell. hskrfan4life primarily posts from 209.34.211.214, which is Metropolitan Community College. hskerholic primarily posts from 174.253.146.153, which is Verizon Wireless. My first suspicion was that it was a wireless/smartphone thing, from their operating software, but that doesn't seem right.

We've been using this version of the board software for quite a while, right? The Rep Points thing that came with this version is about 18 months old or so, isn't it? So I doubt it's that, unless it has something to do with an upgrade to the software from around 12/1/11 or so.

It seems to happen when I post with the iPhone app. I usually can go back into the post and edit the (null) away but it always shows up when I first post with the IPB app. Good luck and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
So... maybe it is a mobile device thing?

Any one post using an app for their smartphones? I'm wondering whether it's just the specific iPhone app he's using. I suspect it is - I would guess a lot of our members post through their smartphones without some kind of app. If it was a flaw in our mobile skin, we'd see it for most smartphones, so I'm guessing it's some error in the specific app he's using.

Does the iPhone use a version of Safari? I wonder if it's related to Safari, if so.
