Did anyone say he was being hired only for his recruiting chops?

Make no mistake, though, it's his "recruiting chops" that got him the offer.
So you recognize that he is a good football coach, and a good recruiter but will not recognize this as a good hire.
Did I miss a post? Where did CM say he wasn't a good hire?
Didn't exactly say"he isn't a good hire" but this:

"But there is something to be said in that he's never been part of a winning culture, as far as I can tell. San Jose St was terrible while he was there, for example.

In the end, he's being hired because he's supposed to be a great recruiter - will be interesting to see if he can pull kids to NU as well as he seems to have pulled to Arizona during a partial recruiting cycle.

I find it interesting that some here are not eviscerating him for lasting less than a year at Arizona - essentially bailing on his commitment there. Personally, I have not much problems with a coach jumping, especially if the players/recruits are able to bail, too, if needed. "

Did you see, iirc, my first post of the thread where I said this would be a good move for both parties?

What are you talking about?
It's really simple. Answer this one, straightforward question with a simple yes or no;

Did HCMR do something right and make a great hire by securing the services of Donte Williams?

Circle one; Yes - No

JJ, I'm not going to reply to your silliness, because you are either baiting me or your comprehension isn't strong enough to understand the discussion.

Take care, buddy.

It's a simple yes or no. Did Riley make a good hire and do something right in your opinion....or no?

You're right. It is was pure silliness for me to expect a straightforward yes or no answer from you for a very simple question. Of course it must be my comprehension skills.

You take care too.....buddy.

Jesus, you're obsessive.

You do realize I answered that questioned before it was even asked, right?

And you do exactly what you say you are not going to do. Get out of your moms basement and give your only friend a little break from your incessant yanking.
And i think this will be a great hire.
