I didn't start this thread, I just chose to comment on what the OP had to say, and for such, I end up getting attacked from all sides by people who don't appreciate my word choice. 

I just wanted to ask you something...when you don't like the subject matter of a thread, why do you choose to click on it and comment? I mean, seriously...there are dozens of active threads right now that I have not clicked on and therefore not read any of the posts. If I don't think I'm going to like the topic, or if I think the topic has been done to death, then I just move on to a thread that has more interest to me. If I click on a post that looks interesting and I realize that it's not what I thought it would be, once again, I just move on. I don't start making negative posts about the thread, or the OP, or other member's ideas that have been expressed in the thread....I just move on.

I'm just curious what seems to compel people, who see a post they don't agree with or are not interested in, to post something negative toward other board members rather than simply sharing your opinion on the topic? And as I said, if you don't really want to engage, then why leave a negative comment at all? Maybe you can enlighten me.

Art Briles. If he can win Big 12 Championships in Waco, he can win National Championships at Nebraska.



And to anyone thinking he may be too toxic, Baylor sent him this letter in May basically exonerating him - see the bottom paragraph.

100% agree. Briles made MULTIPLE QUESTIONABLE moral decisions while at Baylor.  They may have sent him a letter telling him he didn't technically do anything wrong, but anyone who has looked into this knows he is far from lily white innocent.  Heck no.  I'd rather have Bo back.

You ppl talk about wanting to win National Championships but you don't have the balls to take a chance and really go for it! Briles was THE best coach in college football. He was a year or two away from going to the CFP with BAYLOR!!! If Lily white was the standard even St. Tom would have some stains. Baylor's admin scapegoated Briles, and a lot of the problems were from the administration and not from the coaches.

Also, ESPiN has really gone after Briles with a bunch of false narratives. Only two football players were ever convicted of sexual assault. One was a transfer who never played, and he appealed the conviction and won.

Whatever Pedro.  Keep hating your life.  If Bounds and Green screw this one up, then so be it.  But now we have a chance.  

These writers have jobs they need.  Some of them are somewhat afraid to say it all for fear of being shut out by the likes of Eichorst and his cronies.  They need quotes.  They need access.  They need to be able to write.  Similar to what Trump was trying to do at the Press conferences.  Shut people out. If they cross him, they get ridiculed and spit on.  Given a nickname.  It's all very similar.  Some of them held back.  Barfknecht wasn't one of them. he has been putting it out there, but obviously you are too stubborn to read him.

Some of them wouldn't say what they know for all of these reasons.  You can believe it or not.  Don't really care.  Eichorst is Gone and today was a glorious day for Nebraska.  

Hopefully they make all the right decisions from here.

You can believe it or not.  Husker Athletics has been in shambles for quite some time, it is no coincidence that everything was falling apart under Eichorst.

If NU were to reach out and when it's all said and done I hope they do there's the chance that he stays right where he is.  If so then you just have to move on and hope that whomever it is that ends up as our next head coach actually for good reason instills some excitement back into this program among other things of course.

I find it hard to believe you care about the Husker Program yet spend a great deal of time attempting to undermine it.

You can offer up all the rationalizations you want, but when you undermine the coach, you undermine the team who plays hard for him. 

I'm sorry, but this is not about me.

Mike Riley has done more to undermine Husker Football through laziness, apathy, and ineptitude than I ever could.  He has failed to ensure that excellence is maintained in this program.  That is evident.  If you cannot see that, well you probably do not understand why Eichorst was fired as well.  Riley is gone.  The simple fact is it takes time to get a good AD in place who might help find the right successor, and it takes time to evaluate HC possibilities.  But you need to understand Riley has been a failure at Nebraska, and his days are numbered.

It is too late for that.  If you can't see by now this isn't the guy then I almost feel bad for you.  Because this coach is gonna keep dropping 6-7 win seasons on your head.  How long will you put up with it?  When the fans stop coming?  When the recruits stop coming?  What will make you see?  This is not the guy.

BTW the firing of the AD means Riley is already gone.  They just don't want to do it this early.  But it is a done deal.

This is a whole lot of projecting. I think you feel sorry for yourself and want everyone else to feel the same way.

Well, the world doesn't care what your opinion is, so Riley is still the coach and no amount of message board ranting is going to change that. The results from this season will trump what any of us think will happen. You can keep railing against that, but it's the truth.
