***Official Iowa Game Discussion Thread***

In other news, Les Miles just confirmed that Saturday will be his last game as coach for LSU. He won't be coaching the bowl game. Looks like we're not the only program firing consistent winners.

First Quarter Observations:

  • Penalties (poor officiating) & Turnovers (bad decision making) aside, Nebraska has called and played a smart game thus far.
  • Yes we ran the ball more than we passed. That's a good thing. What Langsdorf did in that first quarter was run simple running plays, but out of a vast number of formations. They are seeing how Iowa is aligning to us. Look for the playbook to open up in the 2nd half.
  • Mark Banker has this defense playing solid football these last 3 games. Kudos to that staff for what they've accomplished the latter part of this season. The growth in fundamentals is very visible.

Things I'd like to see:

  1. Keep playing a field position game.
  2. Get Tommy rolling out of the pocket with run-pass options.
