***Official Iowa Game Discussion Thread***

First Quarter Observations:

  • Penalties (poor officiating) & Turnovers (bad decision making) aside, Nebraska has called and played a smart game thus far.
  • Yes we ran the ball more than we passed. That's a good thing. What Langsdorf did in that first quarter was run simple running plays, but out of a vast number of formations. They are seeing how Iowa is aligning to us. Look for the playbook to open up in the 2nd half.
  • Mark Banker has this defense playing solid football these last 3 games. Kudos to that staff for what they've accomplished the latter part of this season. The growth in fundamentals is very visible.

Things I'd like to see:

  1. Keep playing a field position game.
  2. Get Tommy rolling out of the pocket with run-pass options.
I would also like to see a fairly officiated game.
