This is hilarious.

WIND FORECAST

The model expected 11 kts (12.6 mph) winds (not gusts). Here are the most recently observed wind conditions at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport  (not far from the stadium, but west of the river). The G number is for highest wind Gust recorded. The highest gust of the day, so far (36 mph) was recorded most recently - just before 4 PM.

Looking at the short term weather model (forecast), it looks like kickoff time is expected to be 8-9 kts (9-10 mph). Interestingly, however, if the forecast verifies, it appears that the winds will decrease a bit after kickoff. 6 kts (7 mph) is forecast by 8 PM and should remain around there until the end of the game. Wind remains out of the SSE/SE for the duration of the game. Higher gusts are, of course, possible.

If the forecast trend is accurate, the passing game may be more of an option after the first quarter.

It seems to be a far cry from what the models were predicting a few days ago (25 mph winds out of the south).

I don’t see the wind being a factor.

These threads bring out the best in the base...

Over/Under on game time where a single player is both praised and slandered in this thread?

From which side of the ball or position group?

First kickoff of the game

Someone gets down the field extremely fast for the tackle but does not hit hard enough for a member’s liking…

Please no….just play good sound football with no stupid coaching decisions.
I think Rhule will play this game as close to the vest as long as possible.  Rhule may open things up if behind by 2 scores in the 2nd half, but I think Rhule is just trying to get the 4th quarter within 1 score, and see what happens in the 4th.

There will probably be mistakes by the players, but I don't think there will be glaring coaching decisions which will make us scratch our head.

Only 2 injuries keeping players out for tonight isn't bad, especially considering that the training camp may have been more physical vs. recent years.
