Red Report: Husker receivers leaving their mark ... literally

Mostly talks about the the receivers and how they track their down field blocking in their meeting room.

There's a little blurb about Mike Moudy seeing more time, which is pretty cool since I've seen his family at the Husker bar in Castle Rock a few times on game days.

Also, Westerkampstache is ready to step in if Jamal Turner is unable to go this week.

I thought Cotton got off to a really bad start this year but he's played better recently. Moudy has also looked good - can never have too much depth on the OLine.

This season, the work is paying off. His 138 rushing yards per game rank ninth nationally and second in the Big Ten. He has more yards on the ground (690) through five games than any Husker I-back since Ahman Green in 1997.

That's pretty good company to be in, the kids a great back and those calling for him to take a seat are probably second guessing themselves.

I agree. Things have really clicked for Moudy this year. Just a year ago talking with one coach they were worried his progress had kind of stalled. I don't know if having a buddy or two leave the program helped or having a different coach helped, neither, combo of the two or what but I'm pretty proud of how he's responded to the challenge. Cotton..meh...
