***Official Weather Thread***

I like how last month when it snowed UNL though it was safe enough for students and teachers to walk to class , but too dangerous to have the groundskeepers come in and salt the sidewalks. Cant tell you how many people I saw eat sh#t. Last year I broke my leg on a frozen staircase on campus that was not cleared off or salted....2 days after it snowed

 
We had 2 snow days my freshman year 3 years back. Those were a fluke tho. It snowed a ton the say before second semester started and it made traveling to lincoln very difficult for out of town folks

 
Our local weather has informed of some good news-Winds will remain JUST BELOW blizzard levels throughout the snowfall. <_<

The only one I remember was my freshman year 3 years ago when we had that blizzard the weekend before school started back up from Christmas break, and they had to cancel it because like half the students couldn't get back.

 
Made it through 4 1/2 years at UNL without one. Pretty sure one day the university campus was the only thing open in Lincoln.

 
that would be great... i have a feeling that since i have a chevy truck i will be picking people up and bringing them to work.... ughh

 
I can think of a lot of colorful names I'd like to give to the idiots that decided that naming snow storms was a great idea. :rickjames

 
They've really backed off on the amounts around Lincoln for the storm, so I would definitely plan on having class. My suggestion for those who live off campus is to speak to your professors ahead of time if you really believe you won't be able to make it due to the roads. Tell them you'll do your best to get in, but if it's really bad you might not be there. Speaking to them ahead of time goes a long way.
