What's wrong with counters? The buckeyes killed us with them.I think we need more counter runs like the old wingback plays to keep the defense off balance.
Does anyone else find this post hilarious?
3rd down percentage is another noisy stat, and therefore not very predictive. A better thing to look at is passing stats, because 3rd down is generally a passing stat, so that greatly reduces the noise. Or look at success rates, because that will rate your ability to stay on schedule for all downs, not just 3rd down.
The real issue, and we've known this all season, is this team's pass defense is suspect.
When you're ranked 116th does the noise matter?3rd down percentage is another noisy stat, and therefore not very predictive. Nothing. What's wrong is thinking we can make ordinary suggestions to fix a gigantic mess. What's wrong with counters? The buckeyes killed us with them.
Agreed. I coach HS defense. These are HS level mistakes these guys are making. Poor tackling technique, very little gap control.People have been ripping the linebackers. They may not be All-Americans but I would rip Diaco and his 3-4 defense assignments and game plan first.
the three down linemen were double teamed most of the night and put little pressure on Barrett. Plays were being made past the Line of Scrimmage. Way too many yards after contact. Defensive backs playing loose and not playing the ball when running the pass routes with the receivers. The whole defense scheme is BS!
Our offensive line is very weak. The left guard was not quick enough to even move his feet before getting beat by the defensive end- AND HE KNOWS THE SNAP COUNT!! There were far too many shoulder high tackles and missed tackles. Wrap their legs and they fall like a rock instead of surging forward for 3-4 more yards.
I don't think the offensive coordinator is offensive enough to be a winner.
NEXT WEEK WILL BE A GREAT WEEK SINCE WE WILL NOT GET BEAT!!!! ITS A BYE WEEK.
He was so bad I don't even remember the nameCorey McKeon was still worse.
We are officially a "cupcake, door mat, patsy", take your pick."It's not that we lose, it's how we lose"
Like a condemned man going to his execution.I was at the game, I don't think they were scared, they had accepted defeat. Not to mention, the energy during the tunnel walk was lacking and the players didn't look near as pumped as usual. Imho, of course.
