I know. I meant more so with a first year head coach. And then they go into the fire in 2024. Im in wait and see mode. I think Lincoln Riley will be hard to replace.

Weirdly, I'm not sure if that'll be the case.  I think it's a touch easier to coach offense and finding a hotshot OC to lead the offense versus finding the next up and coming defensive whiz.  Now, I have no idea if Venables will actually be a good HC so it may be a moot point.  Riley was an offensive wizard, no doubt about it but his teams always seem to lack a bit of...well I guess toughness would maybe be the best way to describe it.  If you watched the Clemson D over the years while they were of course supremely talented they were also stocked with some rugged and raw dudes.
