One loss to a very good team is not cause for alarm.

One loss, not cause for alarm, you are right.

But when your team folds like superman on laundry day on national TV, again?

We got it handed to us, by yes a better team, but when elements of your team make you look completely inept, then yeah, alarm bells should be ringing.
I agree. I will be singing a very different tune if we lose to tOSU.
People don't seem to realize that we could be in serious trouble because not like the past couple years, we don't have the defense to bail us out and preserve a win if we're able to only score 17 points.

This wasn't simply a loss to a good team, this was a humiliation and an in-place-putting of epic proportions. This was a clear demonstration that NU cannot even *compete* with a team like Wisconsin or probably any team in the top 10 - 15. I was expecting a loss but was expecting a loss close enough that I could still be hopeful for a nail-biter that could have resulted in a win. This was a pounding, NU was laid bare and exposed on that field as being a 2nd or 3rd tier team. It was almost to the point where we weren't even worthy of congratulating Wisconsin for the win, more like we should have apologized for wasting their time. I don't doubt that they could have hung 60+ on the huskers if they'd really tried.

Basically, to say that this loss wasn't a cause for alarm is akin to saying that husker fans should be content to be a non-competitor. Yeah, it took T.O. a while to win the big one, I'm not saying that I expect a national title any time soon, but I expect that NU should give teams a run for their money. If we'd gotten out of there down by a TD or, better yet, a FG, we would have all agreed that such an "L" would have still been a positive indicator. But even though we were the underdog, it was still an upset by just how thoroughly the team was dismantled.

1 loss isn't cause for an alarm I'll agree but getting thrashed on national television is a different story. Sorry. We'll win our games but I guess it's the losses and how we lost that stay with me. At the same time I'll never stop being a Husker fan. We've got it and have it had good.

I agree with zoogies, Carnes should have definitely seen more time this season. Not really concerned what anyone else thinks because we all have our opinions but yeah, put him in there.
