This article is RIGHT On

Just to make a quick point. I have been on this board, now for my third year, and all of my scant posts say Nebraska should not have gone west coast and stayed to the run and the option. I pointed out that very recently you made it to a title game witht that offense, but just did not have the defense to match. Ihave many Nebrasa fans who agreed with this wave of the future, lets be a Pac-10 school crap. I am not saying it cannot be fine, but if you want to be Big Red, something better and defined, that article from you mad Husker is spot on. You all need to go get someone to lead this team who is ready to restore what made you great, not be the flavor of the month. Fun and gun ain't new, just Nebraska getting whipped by teams running it.
You all need to go back to kicking people's tails and not bring in any coach who is just gonna try to be California of the plains...
(one mistake though Neil Smith and Will Shields, Chies and huskers, were great pros)
Jayhawk out
Thanks for the comments, but you're a bit off IMO.
I respect you differ, but please tell me how.
Which point is wrong
* Using a system that maximizes the effectiveness of the in state talent
* Using the Option, which has gotten you to a national title game this decade (2001)
* Sticking with the system that, even under Solich managed to be 59-19, with a National title game, 2 BCS bowls, and a bowl game every year (most good ones)
I understand system changes mean pain. Mangino, Bill Snyder, Hawkins, even Stoops did not go gangbuster year one. That said, Callahan had a lot to work with and he messed it up. Partly, it is because he is not using what he has very effectively. You will never beat USC and Florida at their game. You Won't. That talent seems to largely come from those states and fits their weather. You will get some good kids, but I think there is a reason your team is not winning. Nebraska is not gonna win with a finesse team. It could get better than this, but your brand equity is gonna get all shot to heck and that equity attracted some good players who delivered results.
My Jayhawks will try whatever works, cause we have to build our equity from scratch. We have had a few great players and a couple great teasm, but we are not a great program. I would stop squandering Nebraska's mojo if I had any say, you guys were great recently and that can come and go fairly quickly...
