OT Andrus Peat [Stanford Commit]

I'd like to think that last year before Todd Jr. committed, that the 3 of them (brothers & cousin) collaborated and talked about where they could go to school together, and that Nebraska was the choice...

Yeah, that's it.
Love the optimism, sheepdogmark must be sharing his Red Kool-Aid.

Uh, he applied to Stanford. The 'S' in HYPSM.

Blah... I don't know what all of that capitalized gobbledygook means. All I know is that Nebraska is better.
Honestly, a full-ride to Stanford is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don't believe Harvard, Yale, and Princeton give full-scholarships for athletics, which could be the reason he didn't apply to either of those schools, and MIT, if i'm not mistaken, doesn't have a football team. If I were his parent, and thankfully i'm not, i would come close to making the decision for him.
MIT has a football team, I think -- barely.

FLU, It's just you said, "If he wants academics, he should have applied to Harvard or Princeton", and I think it's worth pointing out that Stanford is in the exact same league as those places. Top 3 school in the country, in my opinion.

The only difference is that Stanford has a much, much, much better football program, and they offer scholarships for it.

I don't think Stanford football is any sure bet to stay at the top either. But let's be real - they are pretty up there now, and Nebraska is no sure bet to get there.

They just had Garry Paskwietz of wearesc.com on espn radio here in Los Angeles (he's basically a Sean Callahan equivelent in LA). He said Andrus Peat is choosing between USC and Stanford, no mention of Nebraska. Sounds like homerism at its finest.
