LINCOLN, Neb. — Want to know something cool about Matthew Anderson, the incoming freshman offensive tackle at Nebraska out of Leesville, La., who emerged on the recruiting scene last spring?

Anderson visited Nebraska last May. He was blown away by the trip and wanted to commit on the spot as he walked out of coach Scott Frost’s office. Anderson accepted a scholarship the next morning — with the condition that word of his pledge remain quiet through the spring evaluation period because he didn’t want to stop the flow of college recruiters to his high school.

So, the kid comes saying we are gonna win a natty in two years.  Instead, he enters the transfer portal.  That says a lot .... just don't know what it is.  Does it not "feel like a brotherhood" now?

What pill did or didn't he swallow?

We had two freshman starting at his position in our last game.  He was a project and is behind some good players who are younger than him, this is a good thing for both player and team.

Agreed.  If it’s obvious he is blocked by a young better player, why should a kid stick around to never play?  Gives him a chance to find a better fit and the team to find another option. 

 
You missed the point ... it's what Mr. Anderson said during his recruitment that doesn't add up.  It's all the stuff in his recruitment thread.  It's kinda like the coachspeak of "we are gonna win a lot of games around here".  Words.  Just words.

I get the last two posts, sure.  But if you are a development type guy you know that it's your Junior or Senior year before you contribute.  

Personally, I'm not enamored with anyone on the OL, especially the Center. :-)

Selfishly, sure. If he wants to play, he wants to play. 

Transferring after a redshirt season doesn't make him a better player, and doesn't make Nebraska a better team, though.
