P&R Forum Restricted Access

Yep, we need to keep those new members who are just here to troll out of the forum.  Only civil discussion allowed in there.

It’s grotesque and indefensible, but I’m sure @Notre Dame Joe @Redux et al will be here soon enough trying their best.

Funny how that doesn't get reported for trolling.  Oh, wait.  It's a liberal so it's all good.

Yeah I just saw this late last night and was genuinely thinking about a warning or some level of reprimand. Specifically calling out two other members like this is bush league and goes beyond 'attacking the post, not the poster.'

If someone like Ric Flair had done this, it would've caused at least two Reports and maybe even a PM from one of that group asking if 'we're just going to let that kind of stuff fly around here.'

I think it's time someone in the P&R Conformists Club received an ego check, perhaps even publicly. Maybe a warning and a public quote in the thread acknowledging this kind of stuff isn't cool, or is that too much? What do you think @Mavric?

I publicly quoted his tweet in the thread for now and left a message. I'll leave it at that for now. Any similar antics in the near future should be a warning IMO.

@Mavric

I just threatened Archy and Scarlet with blocking their accounts from accessing the P&R forum unless they put one another on ignore and/or stop reporting one another all the time. I'm at the end of my tether with it.

It's mostly an empty threat, but I know we talked about this before and it sounds like there's a way if we need to. I was looking through the Admin CP. It seems like the only way would be to create a new Members Group, put them in it, and then edit that group's settings to prevent access to that forum. Think that would work?

That would work.  And that would be the only way to do it that I'm aware of.

I went ahead and created the group, just to have it available. It's called "Members - Limited." Identical forum/permissions access to Members, minus P&R.

Mav do you know if there's an admit setting that defaults which group new members go into? Just want to make sure that by me creating a new group, it didn't override the defaults (I don't think it did but just want to be safe).

That's a good question.  I've never seen a setting like that.
