Not sure what to make of this thread. It got a sock puppet banned and was all over the place from the start.

The one that caught my eye was Junior. Apparently he got a lot of kicks out of posting quotes from Ghostbusters that Redux didn't find funny. There were others doing the same but most made one or two and then let it die. That's all Junior ever did. And he was picking up +1 from banned/boycotting members all the way.

I moved the last two to Hidden Posts and put a note in the thread. I don't think any further action is needed at this time but just wanted to fill in the backstory in case anyone was wondering where those came from or if it continues.

Junior refuses to let the Great Banning of 2015 go. For god-knows-what reason, 1995 Redux is now in the crosshairs of the disenfranchised.

 
I don't know if Junior is looking for a ban, but for the life of me, I can't think of any other reason he's here. Believes this board is the spawn of Satan, but sticks around anyway. Weird.

First post in a month and it's just to bring up the ghost thread again. It's in the 'Shed but it seems to me to only be a matter of time.

 
I saw that, too. Of all the things to hang on to, this "ghost" thing is weird. Who cares if someone is a ghost hunter? I cannot for the life of me figure out why that thread had such a big, negative response.

In lieu of giving him a warning -- since he has none so far -- I sent him a PM letting him know that being here only to antagonize is not OK.

He said he'll "take it under advisement". My recommendation is to let it go and revisit only if it either a) gets out of hand vs where it is now, or b) doesn't change after a few games into the season. If either of those things happen, I think an indefinite suspension is in order and he knows this.

By the way, for regulars, I'm thinking indefinite suspension is a better route to go vs a ban. It has the same effect on the account, and it makes it clear that they've done something wrong, but can appeal it if they make amends. Most people will likely decline interest or be unable to, but this way it's clear that we haven't pronounced final judgment, but have left it up to them.

There have been members that once they knew what was expected changed their wayward ways.

I'm just not sure what the recidivism rate is at present.

 
I'd really not like Junior to be consistently toeing the line just to see if we'll do anything about it just so that the Banished Group and Friends can still exert a little bit of control over the board. I hope that isn't the case and that Junior just has some weird thing against ghost hunting, but if it isn't, perhaps something more than just a PM warning is in order.

 
Junior seems to want to do nothing more than stir the pot. Not sure what he's ultimately after other than to act as a surrogate for his buddies. We've been more than fair; if he can't or won't behave, it's time for him to go.
