Pinstripe Bowl/2024 What Did We Learn

Win the LOS, don’t give the ball away, and play competent special teams is a formula for winning games.

Yesterday we only did one of those 3 things and it almost bit us in the a$$.
Our O line is terrible! Tackles suck so bad! QB has not time to throw. Donovan needs to go!

:LOLtartar

You know, Patrick Mahomes sometimes takes advantage of the rules to protect quarterbacks, starting to lower his body to indicate a slide, then using that frozen defender to stand back up and grab a few extra yards. Raiola has copied his mentor on that, too. It's a really gray area but my sympathies are generally with the defender. DR getting the roughing call yesterday was just more proof that the refs love Nebraska and were looking to screw Boston College.

I was in high school when the old man was center.  I just remember him being a bad MFer.

I agree the Tom Rathman or Barry Sanders days are over.  Every receiver in the country now signals first down.  Every player in the basketball court has a confused look when a foul is called on them.

i think he reflects poorly on his character.  He looks like a poor leader.  Again, just my opinion.
When you have a minute, google Dominic Raiola and the Wisconsin band. Not sure the why behind it, but sure cringy. Maybe roids?

This bowl game should just go away. They were playing on a turf meant for baseball that wasn’t designed to be played on with water on the field and doesn’t take root as deep in the ground to help with the footing needed for football.

they should either commit to investing in turf for football or play this in an actual football stadium. Highly doubt they’re shelling out the $ for a single low tier ball game to get a proper surface. The team that runs this bowl is legit putting players health at risk unnecessarily playing on the surface we saw today

Like gee, to are there no suitable football stadiums in the NYC area?

That's cool. An even 1,000 yards by sealing the game.

Good for him!

Can we get a 1000 yard season rusher now?

Hard to believe BC ran 88 plays. Seems like we dominated the game until the special teams hi-jinx in the 4th quarter. We ran 32 times and passed 32 times, so a nice balanced attack. Have a feeling Satt would have thrown the ball 40+ times.

I guess him going to get Rahmir’s TD ball and ensure he got it to him on the bench was D baggish as well. Sure didn’t see anyone else on the team going to the ball guy go to get that ball for Rahmir, they were all heading to the bench.

This isn't whataboutism. He's talking about the same player doing something that shows he's a team player, when you're making arguments that he's about himself. He's talking about the exact same "issue." An example of whataboutism might be to bring up what some other quarterback is doing and say he's doing it so it's fine Raiola's doing it.

@gobiggergoredder: dylan raiola is a douchebag

@caveman99: was it douchey behavior when dylan made sure to hold onto and give rahmir the game ball after all he's been through?

@gobiggergoredder: ThAt's WhAtAbOuTiSm!
It's interesting what you were able to do there.  Took a few liberties.  Let's look at what was actually stated.

@gobiggergoredder: He acts like a D Bag.  I don’t know if he is or not, but he certainly plays the part well.

He slides late and starts talking.  He slides way too early (again) but still continues to jaw and mock.  As seconds ran out I told my family “Watch this, he’s going to run off by himself and put on a show”.  No way!   That’s exactly what he did.

I've already posted in two other "what did we learn" threads that he intentionally isolates himself for attention.  He runs out on the field by himself in front of the entire team.  During breaks, he isolates himself from the rest of the team (i've seen this on television and in person).

@caveman99I guess him going to get Rahmir’s TD ball and ensure he got it to him on the bench was D baggish as well. Sure didn’t see anyone else on the team going to the ball guy go to get that ball for Rahmir, they were all heading to the bench.

It's most certainly "Whataboutism".  It doesn't address behavior stated.  It goes to him grabbing a football for a teammate.  Super.  It doesn't address or change anything I stated.

These are opinions folks.  I'm not going to change anyone else's mind.  I'm here to state mine.  All 3 of my kids are about the same age as DR.  This isn't anything I find shocking.  If it were one of my kids I'd being letting them know I don't consider those behaviors I'd want out of a leader.  My kids are not elite QBs in the spotlight, but I can guarantee you I've had conversations with them about the behavior of a winner/leader and what they need to correct.

Raiola threw for a 73% completion percentage and 224 yards. That's a good day.

It was a bit emotional seeing Rahmir play his last game but so great watching him be successful. Nine carries for a 6.6 YPC average.

Emmett with 15 carries and right on the dot at 5 YPC.

Am I missing something with Carter Nelson? Did he play?

I saw Nelson in a huddle once.

I want to add Singleton played pretty well.  He’s had a rough season in my opinion.
