Portal Transfer Targets

Right before half. He handed the ball off 3 times. People threw a fit we burned his redshirt to hand off 3 times.

This is OT for this thread, but redshirt rules were crafted before the Transfer Portal was here and the dynamic for many players has changed.  It was crafted for players who would finish their careers at the same school that they signed with as a Freshman. Someone who redshirts needs development to get on the field, in the eyes of the staff, so you get an extra year with them. With the new Transfer Rules, (A) there is less need for them because you can shop for another one in the Portal (B) For players who think the grass is greener, you are just providing them another year to (potentially) leave your program.

Oh for F*%*+’s sake, Frost you crazy son of a b1tch, you are actually going to pull this all off. I PROMISED myself no more koolaide, but look at that magnificent glowing red pot of liquid over there….
I made up a fresh batch when all those lesser qbs started signing elsewhere.   Would you like a 5 gallon bucket… there’s plenty here

The kool aid will really flow if we land JD DiRenzo (has mutual interest). I would feel great about our OL, QB (if Thompson), picked up two solid WR transfers, was hoping a good veteran RB but we do have some young talent, Fidone and Voke at TE....not too shabby.

Not that I'm complaining, but TBH, I'd be a lot more excited if we were picking up former 5* O-linemen than WRs.

LOL no bro not tonight, tomorrow perhaps!  I happen to watch a lot of Texas football (A&M, TCU, Baylor, Texas, SMU, Houston) and I really was impressed by Thompson.  I'm also shocked he could go to the Huskers.  He's not perfect, but easily the best we would have had in a long time.  Reminds me of Kyler Murray at OU (not identical, but similar).
I don't doubt he can be a good QB, I just need to see what kind of line we can put together.  Otherwise we just traded one guy running for his life for another.  Would be more promising in the short term than Smothers or Purdy, I'm with you there.

Somebody find that the Stan Marsh sitting at his computer gif/meme.

I'm not making excuses for the line play last year, but it would also help if the QB has pocket presence (knows when to step up), anticipates throws and throws on time, and has a clock in his head to take off and run if nothing is open. Those things were really Adrian's weaknesses a lot, especially late in games.
