Post Minnesota Game Thoughts/Rest of the season

He sort of said that in the presser after the game tonight. "We're lifting great in the weight room, we shouldn't be getting pushed around like that." And, "I'm hungry to get back in there and I think the guys will be too. We're better than we were this time a year ago."

Talk is cheap. Getting it actually done is the hard part. Results tell you everything you need to know. We can't keep losing like this. We heard all off season how much better they were going to be in year 2. At this rate, I'm NOT going to assume that we beat the lesser teams on our schedule. We have got to stop setting expectations too and getting caught up in them. Frost gets caught up in it, too. The team needs to just go out there and play hard! As Osborne used to say.
This is the crap I am sick of.  IMHO, we have the most passionate fans in college football and some of the most knowledgeable.  We can see the product on the field. None of us see us being better than last year at this point.  Even though we beat Illinois, those guys were brutal in their physicality.  What team have we manhandled?

We might "look" better, but are we performing better?  We are all show and little go IMHO.   If we are lifting great, but still getting our a$$es kicked then it's not working....We do look "better". but like most of y'all I watch a lot of games through the week and we still do not "look" like winning teams.......

Man up at the presser.  "I've got a lot to learn".  "We need to tighten up or we are not bowling".  "Looking at every option to improve".  "I'm a winner and this crap makes me want to puke"

If they need him again...it is a bad thing.
I didn’t think he was that bad. Granted 2AM is the best we have but he’s hurt and we gotta keep McCaffrey limited to 4 games or less so whether you like it or not Vedral is effectively our #2. And I’m not sure I would risk putting McCaffrey out there at all this year with this line. Quarterback play (any of them) is not what is limiting this offense in any way. The only really bad thing is if/when we have to put Bunch out there because then we know it’s a lost cause.

Honestly, our 'improvement' over the course of last year is WAY overstated. About all we really did was tilt a few games from narrow losses early in the season to narrow wins later on, mostly from bringing penalties and turnovers down a bit.

OLB is more of a failure of recruiting than anything, IMO. I said last year that OLB was probably our biggest recruiting need, and then we completely whiffed on OLBs in the 2019 class.

I agree, we have whiffed on recruits, but tanor hasn't exactly been lighting it up. And no excuse for A. Davis' play or why he is countiously called to be out there on the field.

100% disagree with frost. We are not better than we were last year in game 7. Game 7 2019 lost 34-7 to Minnesota. Game 7 2018 won 53-28 to Minnesota

our record is is better right now, but as a team we turned a corner in game 7 last year

Please stop blaming Vedral or Bunch...we could have had Aaron Rodgers for a QB and he would not be able to get anything done with this horrible atrocious OL. They were pushed all night like little girls. Honestly, they should be ashamed of themselves. How can a QB scan the field when they are running for their lives all game long. Plus our defense looked completely lost and beat. We lost this game for many reasons but the QBs were not the reason. Frost and his coaches have a lot of work to do if we are to get to the toilet bowl.

We're a Stanley Morgan, Devine Ozigbo, and a few good OL from beating Minnesota this year. Unfortunately, we don't have a big physical receiver like Morgan nor do we have a fast power back like Ozigbo. I think replacing Foster and Farmer has become more challenging than the staff thought. They had to re-stock a cupboard with basically worse product than what was in the cupboard before.
