Was he BANNED banned or just invited to take an extended break?  He's still listed under Members, unlike people who have been permabanned.

 
He wasn't even invited to take a break.  He disagreed with some of the goings-on and decided this isn't a place he wanted to visit anymore.

As I recall, he asked to be banned.  I know a couple people did this and it was granted but I never really understood it.  I think perhaps his account was just allowed to go idle.

How do you remember that many nicknames?

I read posts from the posters whose names are distinguishable from others'. Hmm... actually most of your list has people w/o "red" or "huskers" in their names.
