Posting Embedded Tweets

Thanks to @DaveH, you can now embed tweets in you posts!

It's very similar to embedding a YouTube video. You simply past the URL of the tweet:

Perhaps someone knows of a shorter way to get the URL but the way I've been going about it is to go to the Tweeter's (
default_dunno.gif
) page and click on the Tweet you want so that it's opened in it's own page. Then simply copy and past the URL into your Huskerboard post. It has to have "status" in the URL for the board to process it correctly.

Also, at the moment, when you first submit your post, only the URL will show up. You have to refresh the page to see the actual Tweet you embedded.

You can grab the necessary link by clicking the time of the tweet (not totally intuitive, I know):

(So for this one, you'd right click where it says "9m" -- the tweet was posted 9 minutes ago -- and "copy link address").

You can also use the Details link at the bottom of a tweet after you open it:

I think zoog's way is easier though

Also, there is a known issue with this feature and certain script/adblock browser extensions where only the link code will show, not the embedded tweet. This is an issue with the extension on your browser, NOT with HuskerBoard.

I know this because I currently have this issue. I'll post a solution when I figure out exactly what's causing this. If someone else finds a fix first, please post it here.

Great stuff! I have been hoping this feature would be figured out for some time. I think it makes posting tweets much "cleaner."

Figured out this issue. I've been using an anti-tracking addon for Firefox called Blur (f.k.a. "DoNotTrack"). For some reason, that was blocking the embedded tweets. I removed it, and voila! I see the embedded tweets.

If you use Blur, either get rid of it or figure out how to white-list HuskerBoard.
