Potential New Mods

Here's my suggested plan of action:
1) Purge seaofred - the fact he hasn't come around in almost two years means we should just clean that closet out.
2) Inform our existing admins/mods of our intentions to demote and why (we can just tag them here, and if we don't get any response after a few days then we'll make the call ourselves). They can either affirm a commitment to the duties, and perform them, or step down.
3) Based on the feedback/resolution we get from our existing moderators, we can decide on a short list of potential add-ins.

Worst case scenario, it just ends up being you and me still holding down the fort, but that really wouldn't be much different than it already is.

And, naturally, the decision to remove our existing admins/mods should be noted that it is being done without malice. Some of them are still posting and visiting the site. To me, this is really more about the fact they're inactive in the duties assigned to their role.

I moved seaofred to Members

jsneb hasn't posted in six weeks and only has three posts since the first game of the season.  If you're not around any more than that during the season, I don't think you're in tune with what's going on.  I moved him back to Members.

What about lo country?

Still active, long history on the board, no warning history. Can't recall them ever being problematic but I have a short memory with those things and I don't know if there's a way in the admin tools to look up "who has been reported" (I tried looking but didn't see anything).

I wonder, if we don't get any traction from Toe and/or someone like lo, if we don't just do a public callout like the one that happened sometime back in the early 2010's. We could see who puts their name in the hat and if we don't like any of the options then we just don't add any new ones.

Yeah, I think that would be fine as well.

I think we should probably try to target a few possibilities first.  My recollection is we haven't had the greatest candidates show interest if we just open it up.

@Mavric I gave lo the run down of what it would be like to be a moderator, expectations, how we'd assist him in learning how to moderate/manage the board, etc. He's on board and willing to help any way he can.

What do you think - ready to bring him in?

I really don't.  He seems to be fairly active and I don't recall him being an issue anywhere.  I'm not sure he particularly cares for me, but that might be viewed as a good thing.

I don't recall that he ever offered to be a Mod when we've put out calls.  But he seems to pretty interested in the tech side so that might pique his interest.

I don't disagree at all.  BRI just did ban Gage County a couple of weeks ago for supposedly attacking him via PM.  He shows up every now and then but it is *very* infrequent.  And it seems to mostly be stuff he happens to be directly involved in around the board.

I did a Mod purge a couple of years ago for people who weren't active.  When jsneb showed up again he asked to be reinstated so I put him back on but I don't think he's done anything.

I see seaofred hasn't even been on the board in over a year-and-a-half so I would think he could be removed.

Saunders got moved to an Admin but I don't know that he's ever done anything Admin-worthy and really not ever anything Mod-worthy.  Plus he seems to disappear for long stretches.  He does post some content which is nice but not really anything more than that.

I would be find with some additions and subtractions.  But it seems like the last couple of times we haven't had much luck.  I don't know if we want to throw out some ideas and just do some targeted asking or what the best route is.
If you guys don't want me as a mod anymore then just say that. I still moderate where I can and I'm on the board fairly frequently. I typically just handle stuff as I see it pop up in the Gameday thread or around the board. I've been on this board for 20+ years and still comment pretty regularly.... and there's no supposedly about the attack from Gage County. It happened and shouldn't be tolerated by any mod, admin, or member.

It's not a matter of not wanting anyone.  It's just a matter of having a few more people be active about it.  Perhaps you're more active than I realize.  But it seems like @Enhance and I (Enhance really) deal with most of the reports and warning (formal and informal) of members.  And answering questions, etc.

I didn't mean "supposedly" to be insulting or doubting.  It just wasn't viewed by anyone else.
