Predict 2018 Recruiting Ranking

This thread was created just after Frost was hired, and we are about 10 days away from seeing whose guess was the closest. At the time of origination, NU was 75th to 85 depending on the service. I am still sticking by my prediction of finishing 18th to 20th. It should be an exciting finish.

So if we add, Palmer, JBB, Washington, Jones, and Bell, that puts us at ~231 points on 247 and ranked 17th currently, but probably closer to 20th after the other classes sort out.  Our class last year(Riley's best?) was 216 points and ranked 26th,...

Frost said we will sign between 24 and 27 this year

I'm seeing last year's recruiting class ranked on 247's composite as #23 with 224.33 points (20 recruits, 6 4-star)

https://nebraska.247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/Commits

If we add 4-7 more, and the most likely at this point are:

Robinson

JBB

Taylor

Tago

plugging those into the class calculator gives a score of 224.54 (20th right now, but #23 using last year's final numbers).  So Riley's best class would be the "basement" for Frost's first transition class?

I'll predict 20-23.  Excellent, given the circumstances.

Yep you're correct, somehow I looked at 2016 and missed 2017. Still like you said its pretty crazy that this should be Frost's worst class. I will also add that while this does happen, Elijah Blades dropping from that class would drop it down to 215 points and 27th.

If you look at Riley's transitional class it sits 4 or so points below what we currently are at and well below where we are looking to finish.  This could be revisionist history, but it also seemed like he had a much stronger class to start with since Bo didn't have a terrible season that year. Pretty much all of the big names Riley had this year had one foot out the door by the time Frost was hired.

Feeling pretty good about this right now :koolaid2:

We are currently at 21 on 247 sports and only a few points behind #20 Michigan. If Hunt, Jackson or Robinson sign we should leapfrog Michigan for the 3rd best class in the BIG. Not bad

3rd place in the Big10 would be a success, and frankly should be the spot we are fighting for every year.

I agree about third place but hope in coming years we can get to top 12 or 15.  This staff has done an amazing job in 8 weeks and if they can get wins on the field in 2018 it will help greatly with the 2019 class.

I think Northwestern might get in trouble with the Big Ten Compliance department.  86 commits is a tad over the limit  :D

Corbin Frederick gets us to 228.09 if you'd like to count him.
