Pregame incidents?

So on his way over to my house for the game yesterday and on KFAB he said there was some crazy bs going on in the south endzone and the Mizzou sideline. Apparently regarding Husker recruits, cheerleaders, etc.

It even apparently got to the point of a Mizzou player running through a security gaurd that was trying to get a handle on the situation. Anybody hear anything?

I think the Missery sideline wanted more room, the Usher was trying to figure out what they were going to do and the Missery player ran a play out of bounds and ran over him. Some thing it was on purpose, wouldn't surprise me, but I'm not for sure what happened.

I witnessed this from the student section. It happened on the Husker sideline in the south endzone. Im not sure exactly what happened, but there was a large number of recruits/ushers/family maybe, standing there, and mizzou evidently thinks they need 10 yards out of bounds to run a drill with LBs or DBs. They were getting awfully close to the large group of people, and one of the mizzou guys went through his drill and absoulutely crushed one of the ushers. Im not going to speak for mizzou, but it looked like they were trying to make a point, and a neutral fan could have concluded that. It was blatant, and one of the fans, or recruits fathers, or someone took the initiative to make an attempt to get after the mizzou coach/player that was conducting the drill. A state patrolman got in his face and he shut up pretty quick.

All in all, it was a classless and dirty move by the player and coach of mizzou. The huskerfan was in no postion to do what he did, but im glad someone tried to defend the old man.

Dan Beebe will have the usher suspended by the end of the week!

I just saw an email on another Husker list from the security guy who got ran over. He said he got called over because Missouri was insisting to use the sideline area where some recruits and other guests were, and there was an argument brewing. As he was moving the guests back, he got hit from being, but not hard. He looked and saw they were doing a drill where LBs were running backwards so he thinks they just didn't see him. He heard others yelling "cheap shot" but he doesn't think so, and he wasn't hurt. But he also agreed with a previous poster who said that Missouri was being a pain in the a$$ by demanding the space without any prior notice and may have just been trying to stir things up. This wasn't anywhere near the level of the RufNeks/DeLone incident in Norman.

Here's a couple photos. Nothing serious from what I can tell.

I find it funny that Missouri's last trip to Memorial Stadium, at least for a while, has a situation like this. Other teams obviously have not had issues with this and could run drills on the field itself.

i caught the end of this on the radio... all that was said was that it didn't amount to much but it could have been handled better and looked rather class-less on the part of the mizzou coach. i think it was sharpey saying that, not matt davison (i love him to death, but we all know he's a bit more of a homer than greg!)
