those that look at trump as some sort of god king believed him when he said he had nothing to do with it....and yet many of the things in 2025 are being done right now in the first days of the trump term. trump lied and they believed him as they always do.

If he tries to do it through the method of getting Vance elected as POTUS only to step down to let Trump take the reigns, they will have to be upfront about it to have a realistic chance at it working, right?
And if so, dems need to do the same. Obama would need to do some soul searching on this. I'm sure he wouldn't be excited to be the President again, but it would more than likely destroy MAGA.

While I get your point. Obama doing it for a 3rd time is the same as trump doing it for the 3rd time. This is why we can't have the old "Well, the guy I like is better fit to be the lifetime president" type of feelings.
We have the two term limit because FDR s#!t all over precedent and then his wife ran the country for like 2 years.
Trump is not getting a 3rd term.

It absolutely is the same thing. I won't deny it at all. I never meant to imply otherwise.
And I share the opinion with you that a President shouldn't be President more than twice. But as adults, we have to understand that our opinions aren't worth a dirty piece of toilet paper when it comes to the political reality of the USA.

Because in a normal world it would never have been a thought. If the Dems were smart, they would call out this craziness right away and just put the thought out in public of Obama doing the same thing. That discussion alone would cause a lot of MAGA idiots to s#!t their pants...

FDR didn't s#!t on precedent. He simply won the most votes in four elections, including pretty massive electoral majorities.
It's mostly because his 12 years in office allowed FDR to stack the Supreme Court that they passed the 22nd Amendment, limiting Presidents to two terms. I guess you could say FDR was "lucky" to preside over a Depression and World War, where voters are more reluctant to change.
I think you may be mixing FDR up with Woodrow Wilson, whose wife essentially ran the country for the last two years of his term.
