Purdue - What did we learn?

And nearly every OC over the last 20 years has been…dun duh da dunnnn…fired.

Seriously though, I understand my criticism may be harsh and I’ll accept that, but it’s my opinion that he is not a good in game play caller. I’m a Seahawks fan, I get terrible goal-line play calls.

Thank you for the bolded, that’s not analytics, that’s boneheaded. It’s also not the only example.

How many teams are there that have fans that actually like their OC?  Less than 10?

That being said, we probably won't see the Carter Nelson leap again.

Maybe I'm just too much of a track guy, but I loved that.  I'm sure Carter isn't a 7-foot high jumper anymore, but he can fly.  Giving that a try was pretty creative.  Only a heads-up play from a Purdue LB kept it from working.  Although he did not really get loaded up to jump like he probably could have.

As nearly everyone here has tight booty hole about Tony White last off season with UCLA and giving him money to stick around.

Coordinators become HCs every year and most likely 95% of those fan bases are upset  (but happy for them) over leaving.

Almost every coach is fired. It's the nature of the job. That is not an indictment of Satt.

and thus, being fired equates to not being good enough. These are coaches fired every 3 years, none of them elevated.

What do you Satterfield defenders believe he has done that is so good?

If the team plays like they did against Colorado, they will beat Rutgers, Indiana, UCLA and possibly Iowa or Wisconsin.  Thus I see them picking up at least 3 more wins against these teams.

They're trending the wrong way right now.  Going to take a locked-in week to win on Saturday.

Didn't you hear the announcers. That wasn't Nelson that was Kwinten Ives 🤦

He has done "good". I wouldn't say great due to sometimes not calling plays that seem complimentary to the flow of the game. However, this offensive moves the chains and puts points on the board. Every possession against Purdue would've ended in points if not for officiating and FG team.

If I never see the phrase...."he got too cute..." again, it's not soon enough.

Every single short yardage down can not just be a run up the middle.  You have to still keep the defenses off balance and guessing at least some.
I'll bite on that one because I am guilty of using this phrase.

I think it is probably better suited to where it happens than why it happens.... I don't want to say they should be boring.... heck I was pushing for more reverses to Jacory Barney. I think I just would like to see maybe a little less finesse in red zone situations; blowing a first and goal situation with three bad throws and then a missed field goal is an outcome we are all a little tired of seeing.

No…those are plays many very good OCs and teams would run.
