QB Blaine Gabbert

Well this is supposedly right from Blaine & his dads mouth...

Its a grade 1 shoulder separation on his throwing arm that will keep him out 2-3 weeks (which I'm not sure if that would be pretty much the rest of the season down there or not).

Also Blaine will be watching the Nebraska-Mizzou game on television

Yep that's right, the word is three weeks now, which for his team is likely the season. This is good in both respects as he probably won't have to take the punishment of getting no blocking, but his shoulder should be fine.

Here's to hoping that this kid is solid to his commit. In our fast food society, it is easy for kids to get confused or worried when things don't go as we'd like. The Missouri game was run up, in my opinion, (and that of some others) to get Gabbert and Compton to reconsider. It is a long way until signing day. Hopefully regardless, recruits like Gabbert and others should see that obvious opportunities are available. Just some thoughts.

This kid is solid there is no way he is going anywhere else. Hell he's recruiting for us some so it would be a HUGE surprise if he decided to go some place else.

are you guys sure he just has a bad team?? He has like 5 tds and 5 ints or something like that. I think I need to see proof that this guys oline really is that bad. He dommed in camps though so it has to have something to do with it. But they didn't wear pads in camps so idk

We won't know how good he is until he developes in our system -- of course I don't really know what system that may be the way things are going. :dunno

I don't know why anyone would expect the kids to be solid when it's beginning to look like we're on the verge of changing coaches every 3 or 4 years.
He still has the intangibles to run a spread offense as well. ;)
I think thats going to be our best bet to win too. Work toward this guys strengths and we could have one heck of an offense. Gabbert will be very dangerous for us is we get a good play caller.

dont want to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like he is really nervous about the turmoil at NU right now. some are saying that if Callahan is fired or leaves he will not sign with NU.

no sources to quote, no links to read, just something that has be said in other places.

take it for what it is worth.

I bet I just read what you read. If Calli goes chances are so does Gabbert.

I hope Gabbert stays with us because he looks like a promising QB, but as a program we are better than a group of 4 and 5 stars and need to get by this time and improve it now.

It does suck, but you can't really keep a coach because a few recruits won't come anymore. Its getting a little evident that this staff cannot develop the talent it can recruit, or it chases them away.
