This could just be my ignorance showing here, but I've always seen the circle game being used with an upside down ok sign (like what happened here) and never seen the WP gesture being used upside down. So whenever I see it like that, I instantly think of the circle game.

I did not know that.  Where I grew up the circle game as not as popular as the "two for flinching" game.  And bloody knuckles.
