SMU offered Thomas last week and running backs coach Claude Mathis was on hand to watch the game on Friday night.

"The SMU coaches had been looking at me for a while, but the coaches really didn't know that I was open to new programs," Thomas said. "I have been committed to Nebraska for a while now and most coaches assumed that I was done with recruiting.
