More from Talman (STAYS HERE)
Here is some more on Green’s decision from Chandra Green who has been wonderful speaking with us throughout the process.
She kind of explained some more from her perspective about the decision for Cody.
In terms of picking between the two schools, she mentioned that Cody had respect for both coaching staffs immensely. She said though the opportunity to play at Nebraska, like A&M that is rebuilding, but sooner, was a big deal.
“He said all along, ‘I’ve always admired A&M, but right now, I have to think about me and what I want,’” Green’s mother said. “He said, ‘I feel that my chances of playing is better at Nebraska than at A&M. I just feel that I’ll have a better opportunity…’ He had to follow his heart, he feels like he has to do this for himself and I mean it’s a big decision.”
Green’s mother also said the visit around the 25th of July is also still set as of today for both her, Cody, and Cody’s sister to visit Lincoln. She also mentioned that the sister hasn’t decided if she’s definitely attending graduate school at NU. Considering the news is fairly fresh and they’re planning to visit in a few weeks, that may all be decided during or after their visit to Lincoln.
Green’s sister apparently feels it’s very important to be with Cody.
“She and Cody are very, very close,” Green’s mother said. “She just felt, that if he was going to go a long ways away, she needed to be there.”
