There've been a lot of new posters coming out and venting their frustrations since the loss on Saturday and it's all well and good (mostly) -- this isn't a meltdown like we've seen before.

This RedPhoenix guy though:

Literally anyone on the team would be better at QB than Martinez at this point.

That is all but one of his posts (his other one was just expressing agreement to someone else, no issue there).

I see knapp has put him on Mod Preview already.

So, I'm pretty leery of enforcing opinions. That easily gets perceived as the mods taking one official stance and people with opposing views being subjected to extra scrutiny. But there are new posters who are complaining about Bo, the team, the game, etc, etc, because they're angry and venting and adding to the general discussion about the game. And there's this guy who just sardonically rags on Taylor every time he opens his mouth.

He hasn't accumulated any official strikes yet but do we have enough here to give him a good suspension?

 
I've CCd all of you in a PM with RedPheonix since he has requested it via report.

One note, I'm aware there is a quite well known HuskerMax moderator who goes by 'Red Phoenix.' I don't know if this is the guy or not and indeed, I don't know anything about him (the Max guy). I only know this because when we had the pedia/max influx the name Red Phoenix came up but I forget the context.

Let's see what he has to ask us.

If you guys feel like it's warranted, full ban is what I would do. I hate when when people sh#t on our players like that. The name calling and sh#t.

I hate it too, and I'd like some discussion on how much leeway we should allow people. We've post-restricted a bunch of "seasonal bitchers" in the past couple of weeks, but we've got a lot more cropping up after the loss. If we can say to people that they cannot simply come here and bash the players, that would be much better.

It's one thing to criticize a player's performance. Calling Martinez "T-Ragic" is bullsh#t. Same for any of our defensive players. Josh Mitchell has been terrible this year, but that doesn't mean it's open season on Mitchell's character. I hate that crap.

I put him back on Mod approval. Like zoogies said in his private message, it's one line of gratuitous Taylor trashing. Yes, he's posted about other things. But he's had 73 posts to this point in his HB career, and about 60 of them are about Taylor - and not in a good way.

Stifles conversation.
