Dari nowkha on College football daily always has nice things too say about Nebraska. his editors prefer too worship the SEC but when the huskers come up he always has nice things too say even when things aren't going our way.

Considering that ESPN staffers voted two Nebraska teams in their Top 3 college footabll teams of all time, that Jim Fowler and Lee Corso appear in our very own Husker tribute video proclaiming Nebraska fans to be the best, most knowledgeable college football fans in the country, that Skip Bayless and others led the surge for Suh to win the Heisman trophy and Kirk Herbstreit picked Nebraska as a national championship sleeper (and we let him down!) this "ESPN hates Nebraska" meme only makes Nebraskans look paranoid.

Seriously. What is this based on? The ESPN hosts who predict that the other team will win?

One poll was a fan vote. One poll was ESPN staffers. Both gave the Huskers a lot of love, the ESPN staffers merely swapped position of the '71 and '95 teams, iirc.

Cool. I did not know there were two different ones. Nice to know. I just know of the one on youtube of Herbstreit "I thought Penn St was the better team. Meh" "I'm just trying to figure out how we can get 97 Nebraska in here, youre letting us down, bleh bleh" I love that vid.

 
And just a moment to ponder Fowler and Corso willfully appearing on a team tribute video, calling Nebraska fans the best and most knowledgeable in college football. They could have hedged that to avoid pissing off every other team in the NCAA, but as I recall they didn't. We would have crapped our pants if they did this for another team, and yet some Husker fans simply refuse the possiblity that ESPN and the media at large actually give Nebraska tons of respect. It's not their fault that our teams have been squandering it the last 10 years.

Also painful but true: the SEC has gone out an earned its place at the top of college football.

You can admit all this and still hate Mark May. Everyone else does.

I'm so glad someone posted this. I go home over lunch and listen to Rome. I caught him talking about how Rex would be on in the third segment, then I made a point in my mind to try to listen or record it. Of course, once I got back to work, it slipped my mind.

I wanted to hear what Rome would say. He is positive about Nebraska and Omaha. We were one of his first affiliates. Awesome!
