Rumors Tony White to FSU

I mean, what do you expect.  Rhule brought in a guy to stare over TW's shoulder halfway through the season, like it was the defense that sucked.

No, Snow was here the entire year.  It only became public when Holgorsen showed up.

Now, if the argument is that the guy Rhule brought in a year ago to (probably) be the DC when White left didn't end up meshing with White very well played a part in it, that seems likely.  Though it sounds to me like the issues are mostly between Rhule and White themselves.

A buddy just asked me a question of….. what players do White and Pot Roast take with them? We have a few young Florida kids who would be prime targets to join them

It does seem like they have different defensive ideas.

I can't agree more and I say that all time.

Of course, Big Ten fanboys refuse to accept that as fact.

There are 133 teams in FBS

Last year we played the #62, #65, #68, #69, #70, #72, #77, #82, #124, #125, #128,  and #133 in total offense.

This year we played the #23, #24, #39, #56, #74, #90, #100, #113, #117, #122, and #127 in total offense. (and a 3-9 FCS team that is not a part of this analysis)

I mean, it is the Big Ten, pretty much every team in this horrible conference is bad on offense, has a super lame QB that can't pass or run, punts the ball on 4th and inches at midfield...

Curious why Pot Roast would follow White?
Fair question, but FSU is opening checkbook, Pot Roast wanted to be next DC and Rhule brings in Butler under that assumption…. I know that FSU was a wreck this year, but they were undefeated last year and are in a prime recruiting area…warmer… I could go on and on

Is Butler a shoo-in for the DC spot or do you think Rhule considers others?

I wish we would have hired Bob Stoops in 1997 when Tom announced his 'retirement'.  25 years of chaos would have been avoided.
Of all the "what could have been" scenarios that flash through my head on a regular basis, this one always comes to the forefront. By all accounts, Stoops was Bill Byrne's number one choice to replace Osborne. But since Osborne had previously promised the job to Solich, Byrne didn't want to overstep his bounds, or so the story goes. What could have been...

Sounds like Rhule & Butler wants to run a 4 -3 def instead of a 3 - 5.

i think white did as well as he could have done with the talent he had to work with and butler and snow circling him like sharks. i didn't understand the people expecting this defense to be a lot better than last years they just don't have the guys to be a top 10 kind of defense.
Yeah we were lacking a dude on the line who could get to the qb and force adjustments, these guys are hard to find.

I would’ve liked more consistency and at least a clearer step forward with all the vets. Feel like a lot of the guys stayed the same or regressed compared to last year

And coaching is all about connections, the more guys you coach with the bigger your network gets.  It can only help for the future.
