Rumors Tony White to FSU

Looks like Rhule has already found White's replacement.  Lets go straight to the presser:

Whoever the next DC is, he needs to have a "no BS" type attitude that Holgorsen has.  As in practice well and play as you were coached, or sit on the bench.  This program needs a major infusion of discipline and accountability.  There's no reason to lose 9 out of the last 10 to Iowa, who plays without a quarterback.

Who would you rather have at DC based on resume?

For the 8 years prior to being hired, was DC at a mid-major program for 1 year, then was DC for 4 years at a high major program ,and then was HC for 3 years at a mid-major program.

For the 9 years prior to being hired, was DB and LB coach in the NFL for 3 different teams with the only college experience on his resume being a GA (asst WR coach) for 1 year 12 years before being hired.
A is Diaco

B is Pelini

We rank 20th nationally but 7th in the big ten.  Def good enough to be a 9-10 win team with a competent offense and special teams.  I just don’t feel our defense is that imposing and too often we make an average to below average qb look all conference level for me to be that upset at whites departure
This sums up my thoughts as well: I think our defensive success is fairly overstated. Don't get me wrong, they did a lot of good things. Colorado now looks very impressive. Ohio State was impressive. They did everything they could be asked against Iowa essentially. But, I never felt they were dominant and they showed substantial flaws that were exposed by other teams.

That said, they clearly were the strength of the team. I hope Rhule does not simply promote from within here. Nothing against Butler, I concur with others that I don't think the DB situation was entirely on him. But we are really not in a position to take chances. Rhule needs a minimum 8 win season next year in my book. Anything less and it's really all over for his tenure imo.

So at this point is Rhule just going to start over and try the whole “hiring a staff” over again since the first round was a failure.

Foley should be fired as special teams

satterfield has been demoted. Holgorsen hopefully takes over OC. Guessing satterfield gone so need TE coach, guessing Thomas the co-oc is gone since I doubt he wants a demotion and what did he do anyway?
WR coach should be let go because well why not

RB dude could go

Raiola will stay.

defense dc is leaving and taking dl with him. Butler prob takes dc job. So need db coach.

so literally next year the only 2 guys still in tact on the staff MIGHT be linebackers and offensive line.

Thats screams I s#!t the bed 2 years ago

I agree to most of this !  If you are replacing guys who didn't get the job done (like most of the guys mentioned), then, yep....poor decisions made.  But, in the case of the DC and DL, they left because of the success they had here, which is what you want.  You hope your guys are good enough for others to come after...

Not totally true.  On offense, yes....and he's making appropriate changes.   I wouldn't say he s#!t the bed on defense.  His coaches got hired away from him to a pretty good gig because they did pretty well.  I wouldn't call that s#!tting the bed there.

Well it sounds like there is more to it. Not saying he got pushed out but Rhule wants to shift to a 4-3.

But I agree white was a good hire.

But still over half the staff was not very good. So I would call that s#!tting the bed.

Fine.  He's making the changes we all see.  Good for him and I support him.  Excited to see who the new guys are (hopefully Holgorsen for OC) and see what they can do.
