Rumors Tony White to FSU

Walters, a former Colorado safety, has a deep connection to the rivalry between the two schools. His dad, Marc Walters, played quarterback for the Buffaloes’ in the late 1990s during the early years of Ryan’s childhood. He grew up hating Nebraska and says those feelings do not go away.

“My history with Nebraska started at a very young age. Obviously grew up a fan at Colorado, my dad playing there, and that was the hated rivalry, right?,” Walters said Monday, via Boiler Sports Report. “And so you remove yourself from that as a coach, and the first time I got to play against Nebraska again was in 2021. My first season at Illinois. I just remember them running out of the tunnel in Champaign and the feelings just come back, right? It’s like, man, I really can’t stand that color. Don’t like that N on the helmet. And so definitely this has been a big week.”
Looks like we just need to embrace numbers on the helmets, the all whites, and the alternate home uniforms with the black jerseys.  Easy fix!!!

At this rate - just get it over with.  Bring in a guy like the Indiana coach or Sanders who can bring in a group of players and coaching staff.  I'm so tired of coaching carousel here at Nebraska.   Chadwell at Liberty - get him and transfer in his group of players.  Yeah - I know this is premature and won't happen, but when Nebraska is now a stepping stone to other programs, it shows how much we have fallen.
You didn't watch Liberty play this year, did you?

How is Walter’s floated after an abysmal job he did with Purdue? Their defense was awful
A good DC can be a bad HC and vice versa. Also, l think the fact that Purdue is a mess of a program needs to be factored into it. That's a team that truly just doesn't have the talent to win more than a few games. His performance as a DC matters more to me here since that's the position he would hold.

I can agree with these points.

This isn’t a counter argument to your point and I am being semi facetious after all the hate on Bo and then the first candidate mentioned by media is this guy, who really has done less than what Bo achieved. I find it “funny ha ha” that Walter’s has been mentioned.

To have an opinion about Walter’s, I don’t want a him in Lincoln. Something about toothpaste and not being able to put it back in the tube?

It would undeniably be a rebound job before leaving. No point entertaining that.

I have a gut feeling the defense is going to take a step back next year after the AARP eligible defensive tackles go to the NFL. Hopefully I’m wrong for our sake.

If my instinct holds merit, I can see White getting out ahead of a backslide at NU to take on a challenge like FSU and show another quick fix resume builder before landing a higher profile HC role worth tens of millions.

I mean, in this profession, who wouldn’t? That’s what I’d be encouraging if I were his agent wanting a cut of the pie.

I think it’s pretty telling he doesn’t seem to be getting the same HC buzz, at all, this off-season compared to last.

I’ve heard from a few husker outlets now there was a buyout clause in Tony’s restructured contract last December when a lateral move would result in the new school paying the remainder of contract unless it was for a HC job.  Any one know how accurate this is?

Time to go big and not settle.  It’s not like we overachieved this season and won 9 games and have coaches on this staff that are hot to take the next step.

This is a new era of CFB. Are we going to play or just be a stepping stone for others?
Sorry, but you can hope all you want.  I think it will be Butler.
