I'm really happy about this pick up. Jones is a big guy who is an obvious leader on his team. You watch his highlights and see him pushing defensive linemen into the correct alignment, diagnosing plays immediately, running crisp routes on offense, and knows where the defense is soft. I think that his basketball experience really shows in his understanding of spacing. Plus, he has legit movement skills. He's not espcially explosive but is very smooth and has great balance.
The biggest and toughest thing he has to do to become a contributor is get over that mental hump to be a violent defender. Lots of high school guys, especially those that are big for their position, play down to the physicality of their competition. At the college level, he will have to learn to play violent because guys will be as athletic as him for the first time.
