First of all, if you haven’t noticed how much more flippant players and coaches are these days, you must not watch a lot of college football.

my post had nothing to do with this kid burning Nebraska. It’s a comment about every single player and every single coach in college football these days. Nowhere did I call out this kid, I just happened to post in this thread. Yes, you can apply it to pretty much every single commitment that we got this year, but I don’t feel like wasting my time, or yours reading it.
I get what you're saying, I just disagree that this is new.

Recruiting has always been wild. Frankly, it's part of the fun of the sport.

That being said, I'm glad Nebraska was able to keep Jones in the fold!

If I had to bet, he won't finish his career here.
Fwiw, this was said behind the scenes about Ty Robinson every offseason since his freshman year. Just kind of the name of the game now, have to pay to get players, have to pay to keep them. Hard to know how much it was always like this but it’s definitely more out in the open nowadays.

Not trying to argue with you because I hear what you’re saying for sure.

I just feel that if someone loves the program you don't have to up the NIL every year to keep him around or even up the NIL for him to bring him here.

so is he going to bulk up and play Sam or Will when they go to 4-3 next year?

Rhule said he wants the same multiple-front defense, and there's really no such thing as a 4-3 anymore. 4-3 teams are in a 4-2-5 the majority of the time anyway, so some form of Nickel/Rover is needed. We just might focus on bigger Jacks and treating them more like a DL than an LB. I'm sure he's start at Safety/Rover, and there's always a chance he outgrows that.
