S Wayne Lyons

He got banged up this week. Some sort of knee injury and will miss 4-6 weeks, MCL tear I think.
oooppss that sucks............. i hope we still show him love
Injuries haven't stopped us before, although I shudder when I think about the potential Chris Williams had and how much his derailed his football career. Although, IIRC, Williams was already a commit when he got hurt. Oh well... let's hope this injury isn't as devastating to our boy Wayne.

Williams was committed to Nebraska for a while when he was injured. He tore the "Terrible Triad" the ACL, MCL, and PCL as well as his miniscus. That is an injury that takes a very long time to heal and the success of players returning to near prior performance is small.

Thankfully it sounds as if Wayne's injury is only the MCL, not near as important of a ligament when it comes to planting and change of direction as the ACL. Hope the recovery goes well and isn't rushed to prevent further damage.

Final 7 are:

Florida

Michigan

Nebraska

Notre Dame

Stanford

Tennessee

UCLA
Wayne do you really want to practice at all hours of the day, longer than rules allow, and have your acedemics suffer when playing for RichRod?

OR do you want to really sit around a camp fire singing Kum Bi Ya with skippy while contemplating the meaning of life, instead of improving your skills on the field?

Come on this could have been made a final five so easily.
I have not said his name in awhile but I guess I will now. Speaking of UCLA, after watching them get pounded by Stanford I can't help but to think that Owa made the complete wrong decision. He could have been great here, instead he will be playing for 4th in the Pac Ten.

With that display, I'd say competing for 6th in the conference might be as high as they can go. The past two weeks they've looked rotten. I think a game between them and Colorado might be extremely entertaining at this point.

Well OO burned his redshirt yesterday, and I think a UCLA/Iowa State game would be even more entertaining.

However, back to Wayne, too bad he wasn't able to see this secondary play yesterday. Straight lockdown across the board. It was a thing of beauty to watch. Wayne could easily fit in with this unit. Send him the tape and then have one simple question on a notecard asking, "And how many of these other teams secondaries are playing at this level, and will get you to this level"?

The coaches will show him tape of the secondary, and let Wayne know that he could be apart of this lockdown secondary.

I just posted an update on the OO thread. We all moved on but look at his choice. 5 and 6 win seasons in the PAC Ten????

This sucks. Hopefully Wayne will make it up after his season, but it is so much easier to sell NU on a game day, especially to kids from the Floridas of the world that think Nebraska is just a flat piece of land with corn and cows on it.

Wayne seems to have a good head on his shoulders so I think he will see all the positives NU has to offer, without the help of the adrenalin rush of 85,000 screaming fans.

this is the kind of kid who wouldnt have looked at us in the past... with that offer list getting this kids to come to visit is a huge step in the right direction and pretty soon as i've said most of these kids will be coming here REAL soon!!!

That adrenalin rush is helpful in keeping the Florida guys warm though. I'm giving this one about a 3% chance now. Late season, non-gameday visit by a Florida prospect whom obviously has issues w/ colder weather...not happening.
