Sale of HuskerBoard

Was that owned by HuskerMax?
Yep, years ago HuskerPedia was owned by Max.  Then there was a dispute about the "Pedia" ownership, and Max was forced out and he created Huskermax.com.

It's funny to look back at all the message boards I used to frequent.  I started with HP, then didn't want to pay the annual fee just to post, so I found BigRedBoard.com (BRB) .  BRB was ok, but they had a super hard-on for Bill Callahan and hated anyone who was pro-Osborne/Solich .  They began to give bans left and right in 2007 when BC's team was melting down.  Many of those members joined Huskerfanclub.com (HFC).   HFC was ok, but they were really strict on not joking around and only having "serious conversations".  Their tag line was "serious Husker talk for the serious Husker fan".  At their peak, they may have had 50-100 regular posters, and there were people who were treated as "favorites".  After a few years, the membership really started to dwindle, to the point there were hardly any discussions at all.  That's when I rolled over to HB.  I had created a log-in years ago, but never posted until the last couple years of Bo's tenure.

I posted to something back in college in the 1990s, but I have no idea what it was. Basically a step above a newsgroup.

Then I found HuskerBoard, and primarily posted here.

When I was a Mod I decided to join somewhere else just to be a regular member somewhere, and I joined BigHuskerFan. Is that joint still around? I barely posted there.

Then there was a brief membership in a short-lived board in 2015.

I post a bit on Reddit, both /r/cfb & /r/Huskers, but not a ton.

Now, I'm perfectly happy to be here. It's a good joint. I wish AR Husker Fan & zoogs & old NUance & accountability & carlfense would come back, but so it goes.

Yes, but not the original boards from years ago, it appears--looks like they nuked all of the original board info and content and moved to a new platform. Plus they nuked their 'Third Rail' board, which is good--it was pretty much a cesspool of MAGA troglodytes before MAGA was trendy.

Sounds like it's doing okay since one of the main founders (Solly?) died a few years back, but it does have a better front end/news aggregation tool than most Nebraska sites (including a certain purchaser of this site).

BHF is a shell of what it used to be. They banned a lot of members who were vocally against some of the things Pelini was doing, which took a lot of the membership away. I started visiting there in '02, but only peek in every now and then.

I’m going to start a forum called HuskerMoiraine where I just talk to myself.

I'd like to join and then be permabanned by you, if that's okay?

They had another mass culling after Pelini left--part of it was due to the Third Rail derp spilling into the rest of the board, and part of it was people that objected to the Riley hire not touting the company line from the very beginning. I think Solly passed and then the board underwent a change right after. I came over here in '07, well before the Pelini and Third Rail stuff climaxed.

Regardless, it's been rocky over there, but their administration smartly made it a point that politics and religion were verboten from discussion (unless it pertained directly to the topic at hand).

Is that a turn on for you?

Usually people have to pay good money for this kind of action. Just sayin'.
