As I sit here licking my hawkeye wounds i switched over to watch nebraska and saw another tribute to sam foltz. Dont know a whole lot about the guy but I did know a little. Obviously with another great tribute today from Oregon he must have been a helluva guy. The penalty against fresno state and them denying the penalty was one of the best things I have seen in watching 30 years of college football. Sorry for that loss husker nation but this is the first time in history the play of the year in college football will be a penalty. Good luck this year until we see you in Kinnick.

Great to have fans come on here to talk football. Even better to speak of Sam. From all accounts Sam was a hell of a guy. Good luck to y'all as well.Hurt the B1G today to have y'all lose. Gotta sting. Good luck as well. Looking forward to some revenge in November!

 
I am wondering if Sam F was somehow 'assisting' Caleb today in the punting as he did a hell of a job. Our new punter appeared to finally get some confidence and put his foot into the ball. He was certainly the special teams MVP today! Arguably he may have been the game's MVP as he quietly did his job well. Go Big Red! Give him an honorary blackshirt or something!

If you look at this kids recruiting tape - it was pretty impressive. He has two strikes against him right now: 1) two months ago he was preparing for a redshirt 2) a lot of thinking about sam - which makes for big shoes to fit into.

By the end of the season this week should be a weekly trend!!!

I actually thought the same thing during the game. Like Sam was helping Caleb swing that leg forward.
