** Scott Frost megathread all things SF***

"With the Gators trailing 21-0 at the half in their eventual loss to Georgia, Spurrier walked through the press box and asked a handful of reporters, "What happened to the forward pass?"

toxic

Why is that anymore toxic than what some of the former Huskers have been saying to the press about the current situation in Lincoln?

Isn't that show just some fans speculating?
 Yes.

“Players unanimously want Scott Frost.” — whatever.  Most of the players probably don’t even know who he is!

Also, the players have not been told that Riley is done at the end of the year.  So Moos states publicly that he doesn’t fire coaches in season, yet somehow wants the team to be informed that Riley is done?  That’s total b.s.

Blackshirt Alert Show = fake news .

All of our “soothsayers” — hey let’s throw a hundred things out there and see what sticks !

If Frost does decide to stay at UCF one more season, I am sorry, but I would almost say go ahead and keep Riley one more year. So I hope Nebraska has seriously talked to Frost to make sure he would come if the job was available because we would be in quiet the predicament if we are one year off from when Frost would be available.

I came here to read rumors that will tingle my berries, and so far my berries have not been tingled. Please someone find something.

UF is on the verge of no longer being competition for Scott Frost and he rejected them. If he wanted that job they would have waited.

I'm just looking forward to all of this being done and over with. Now people are having freak outs about rumors of Frost not the #1 target even after an ESPN employee states that Nebraska has made it known that they want Frost as the next head coach. SMH.
Thought we couldn't trust everything we hear from the media. Only ones that fit our narrative? Ok

In fairness, nor should he. He's 80-22 with a NC and a playoff appearance.

Probably going to be some AC changes which seems fair.

He's been feisty about his staff but with the blowout loss to BC practically cementing a losing season would think he'll have to relent and make changes.  There is no getting around that this team could be coached better.

I remember the days we only celebrated when we were the last team standing at the end of the year. But here I am living in the past thinking about teams that had a high standard of excellence. Not celebrating beating teams we are supposed to pummel

Browsing the Gator boards, it looks like an announcement will be made either tomorrow or this week for Chip Kelly as their HC.
Thank God. They were a huge worry to stealing Frost. For whatever reason Tennessee doesn't worry me, maybe it's because they are so focused on Gruden, or maybe they still associate Frost to 1997. Either way, Florida closing is a good thing for Nebraska.

The poster that I am talking about attends the meetings with the big wigs and he said it is true about the two way communication. He doesn't have any confirmation that Scott Frost is coming through and I wouldn't expect him to say otherwise without confirmation of it.

He is the guy where I am getting the DB, DL and WR coaches potentially retained.

We have been talking about retaining those coaches for over a month.....

Source: Gators AD has statement already drafted no matter the outcome of UGA game..

We now have more competition for Frost. Not a fan of firing coaches mid season but with the moved up signing day if Frost is our guy we need to be proactive

Agreed. I think Tennessee is more obsessed with Gruden then we are with Frost lol

If you'd like to talk about how Nebraska's coaching search is influencing the feelings in your private areas, or makes similar jokes/expressions about sexual acts, please take it to the Woodshed. This isn't the place.

I am hoping it becomes official this week and if it isn't I will be a tad nervous going into the following week. I'm pretty confident it will go down sometime this week. Usually vetting means there is mutual interest so all it takes now is an official offer and then the details can get worked out. News would break about Chip to UF before the ink is dried if all that is left is getting some details worked out and then officially signed.

Let's hope he's right!

What's the source for this?  But I completely agree with everything here!  We need to snag him before Florida does.

Jessica, here is something you need to understand.

Frost is not coming if he doesn't have full say of staff. Now, that doesn't mean it's impossible for those coaches to stay, but those will be SF's decisions, not big wigs in a meeting room.

Nobody will be doing any hiring until the regular season is through. If Nebraska lets Riley go the day after the Iowa game we should have plenty of time to court Frosty.

Im confident the contract will be good once the vetting is complete.  No way they vet without the intent of him being their guy.

I know. I'm not saying those coaches are being forced on Frost. Heck, they even talked about the offense he would run at Nebraska. We will see how the staff comes together once Frost gets here since that stuff is always fluid with other offers that come in.

I am confident that Kelly is next HC at Florida.  Wish I was as confident in Frost coming to Nebraska.  I stick with my original prediction that he stays put.  Just wish I knew who our 2nd choice is.

This thread is like Groundhog Day.  lol

I do agree with the user(s) that say Frost should make a jump now while his stock is high.   A couple mediocre seasons and the opportunities could dry up.  A few big jobs available already.  Who knows what will be available in a couple of years.

Yeah no sitting power 5 coach will

speak to other schools about their openings until their season is over.

How does Frost top the "Hip, hip, hooray!" culture we have in the locker room right now?  Riddle me that.

I think she is just trying to show some parallels to NU in a relatively subtle way.  We like to run and haven't been successful at it, they like to pass, and haven't been successful at it.
