** Scott Frost megathread all things SF***

Agreed.

People who know Frost and are close to him have said they know he wants to coach at Nebraska. If that's true, this is his shot and likely his only legitimate shot for the foreseeable future.
Having just had a kid myself, you obtain a strong desire to have your family taken care of while your alive and when your gone. Now I don’t believe Scott will make a move FOR money, but he has to realize (if his team finishes undefeated) he cannot be in a better position to max out his earning. He’s got to strike while the irons hot. The stars hardly align for anyone to max out your earning AND be offered your dream job (if that is still the case).

If he has the desire to come to Nebraska, it has to be now, if he wants to benefit his family to the fullest potential.

Who said no Interest? That is a you word useage.Dumb thing to say. I said nit enough interest frim big names. Next time try to comprehend what you are reading.

Sorry for using the wrong wordage (Not easy or Difficult)

There was nothing in that article that would make most reasonable people believe that there is NOT ENOUGH INTEREST from "big names" in the Tennessee job  if it comes open.  Or that the AD doesn't have a "yes" for a job that isn't even open.

Don't you think a program like Tennessee would only go after "big names"?  Which I assume by "big names" you mean people like Scott Frost.

I don't know...seems like the job comes open every 3-7 years fairly predictably.  Sad to say it...
As do other jobs.  The coaching carousel is easy to get on or off at any time. If Frost wants the Nebraska job though, 3-7 is a long time and Damon's reasoning doesn't work. It would seem unlikely that he would stay any longer at UCF.

Butch jones was not a big name when hired by Tennessee.  He was the "hot" name

Derek Dooley was not a big name.  Well sort of because of his dad.  But he himself wasn't.

Lane Kiffin was a big name in name only.  No substance

So history lends itself that it doesn't matter if "Big Names" are not interested.

Once again, jessica tries to push a narrative without any substance

Agreed.

So based on this, it doesn't matter what the chatter is at UCF, Florida, Tenn, or any dang place.  It doesn't matter what the circumstances are. If Nebraska comes calling, Frost goes to Nebraska?

Two Florida sites are saying it is Chip.  He reached out to Florida according to what they are saying. Frost is holding out for Nebraska. Likely to be annouced next week.
You just told me that Spurrier hinted it was Strong?  So which one is it?

My guess is Damon has put money down on frost coming to Nebraska and he wants to swing the odds so he can make more $$ when it happens. How do you like them apples.

How long will some of these Only Frost people give him to make it work? Cuz our 2018 schedule is going to be a wake up call no matter who we get, so there’s likely one subpar year down. What If year two doesn’t show enough improvement? Is he on the hot seat in year 3 just like Riley? I just wish more people were a little more realistic with the challenges this program faces.

And I wish more people were realistic in the universality of such things. Data has been posted about year 2 tendencies of coaches at large as well as many examples from multiple eras in this thread. I'm not reposting it redundantly. It's pretty clear.

I'm certainly for Frost getting heavy consideration and I'm also for firing him after 3 years if the results aren't there that lead to the conclusion he can get over this 9 win hump. I also have to seriously question anyone who thinks he needs longer on if they've actually read the supplied data.

Agreed. I dont think it's close to being established that Frost is looking to leave, with the obvious exception of Nebraska opening. He's more pushed into that role based on success at a smaller program. You could say the same for about half of these lists.
Might all be wishful thinking on every ones part........Frost might be content to be a big fish in a small pond.

DB drives me crazy. He says stuff like this on his show and words it such that you almost think he's talked to Frost or someone in the know, but he just can't come out and say it. Truth is, he just speculates like the rest of us but due to his connection to the program he gets off on being the "insider" guy.
I think he also plays devils advocate nearly to the same degree where he criticizes fanboys for behaving.

ED, I love your question and I will be 100% honest, For me...any coach is on the hot seat the second they take the job.  They know it too and that is why they are smiling when they sign that sweet sweet guaranteed contract.

Well I'm going to continue to assume a coach wont accept another coaching job mid season and if they want to move on they will wait to the years end to see all their possibilities. Let's hope anyways.

I keep hearing this "What if Frost doesn't work out? Will they give him enough time?"

I have answers.

If he doesn't work out, than everybody here is wrong and they fire him.  They'll give him as much time as he deserves.  If he has two losing seasons in his first 3 or 4 years, he'll be gone.

And I don't think there's any chance that will happen.  Frost really is a natural superstar coach.  And I don't care if you don't like to hear it.  You can wait until midway through the 2018 season to see it with your own eyes.

Look at Purdue.  Brohm is a good coach.  That place was a disaster.  They have the #71 ranked 24/7 Talent Composite.  And in year one, he's got them playing the Huskers as a touchdown favorite.  That's what good coaches do.

Riley is a bad coach.  Bad coaches squander talent and leave fans feeling hopeless and scared.  Fans wonder if the players were overrated.  They wonder if they've been ruined by bad coaching or their minds poisoned.  A good coach will fix that quickly.  Frost is a brilliant coach.  Not only is he a brilliant football mind and incredibly organized, but more importantly he's also an incredible motivator.

I'm not saying he'll win an NC next year, but he'll get us back to at least 9 wins and improve on that the following year.  And most importantly, he will have the team playing good, motivated, focused football

What are the chances Scott has an account here?  I would in his shoes...

If he signed up as "jessica0" ......

No need for them to go to the press this time. I know there was a meeting after the Northwestern game where they talked about the type of offense that Scott Frost would run at Nebraska and other topics that the poster would not provide for privacy reasons (promised not to leak it to the boards). How often they have had those meetings I have no clue and I'm not going to ask.

Heck, the leadership took charge this time around without the boosters having to force it publically.
Hi Jessica,

Do you work for the University?  In several of your post you share that ‘you know’, not that you think or it’s your opinion, but that ‘you know’. I’m just curious how you know these things?  If you are in a position where you can’t explain how you know I can certainly respect that. I’m just curious.

I like this post, except the part where you state these unknown (*wink wink) future events as fact. That is what is driving me crazy here lately. I like Frost and would support his selection 100% but there are no guarantees. I wish people would avoid stating things this way.

Yes. Again, I would say if that chatter is true, I don't understand how he could turn down the offer.

I'll respect whatever decision he makes because it's his life and his family. But, I also think UCF has a ceiling and it would definitely be a long process to get them anywhere close to what Boise State was for almost a decade and they'd HAVE to move conferences to be a legit CFP contender. There's just a lot there. If Scott believes that's his calling then power to him.

I already posted info and the link about the meeting. A few pages back.

I am pretty sure he is being told to consider that by a man that has been attached to Nebraska for his adult life, and can not get away.  I think he enjoys that some, and part of it not so much.  Coming here for Scott Frost is considered a life time commitment by many on this board.  He may have higher goals or he maybe just happy as heck where he is at.

No body knows but a very select few, and they aren't talking about it.

I just hope the fan base does not go too crazy what ever happens.

Her/His presence on both boards may be a trick for clicks.  I haven't looked at the other site to see if she/he is playing the other side.  But something has never seemed quite right with the posts being made.
