** Scott Frost megathread all things SF***

I do have some info. But its nothing new to anyone here. A guy at my work says he knows a higher up at UNL. Didnt name names. But he told him Frost does want to come here. Nothing ground breaking- but like he said it is really is pretty big news because if he wants to come here I imagine the Moos will make it work.

To everyone who is afraid because of past coaching searches, ya gotta admit this one has been a little different. Way more smoke than with Tressell to be sure. This is more like nabbing Bo Pelini except Frost has way more potential.  But it seems like it's who the fans want and everything seems to be flowing naturally. Trash season for us but our candidate is having a stellar year. A lot of similarities.

So what's this Texas AM being an attractive job for Frost? What I've read in this thread, it made it sound like Texas AM, if it opened, would be a potential landing spot for Frost. Huh? Other then the incredible amounts of money the Aggies could offer what is the attractiveness to that job? And why would Frost be interested in them?

Texas AM may be one of the hardest jobs in the country. Yes they have a ton of money, and located in a great recruiting area, but you're in the SEC West, and you aren't even the most popular or favorite team within your own state. Unless you get the Alabama or LSU head coaching job, I don't think any job in the SEC West is attractive.

Agree 100%.  Texas A&M is the most overrated 'big name' job in the country.

Nothing news worthy this morning on any of the coaching searches. Only thing that is getting a tad interesting is that Jimbo Fisher may try for the A&M job according to Adam R. (ESPN guy) on some radio show this morning.

On the free board for RSS people say Scott Frost wants a 7 year deal.

Thus, nothing news worthy or reliable info this morning besides the Jimbo stuff.

The Swags sources be talking a little louder today. Other D1 coaches be assuming the Oracle of Orlando is returning to the land of the corn.

PS my source is Nate Clouse on Tunnel Talk

PS someone help me, I can't stop
Although the sock is now a pile of lint he is channeling himself through you. Just let it flow.

Since I was banned to get sent back to 247, I had to make this new account, which will obviously get banned too, in order to explain what I know, how I know it, and why I have such strong belief in Scott Frost.

Firstly, it is disrespectful to post the city and state where I post from. Shame on that poster. Not cool at all. Secondly, I am a female. No Jessica isn't my real name. I was born and raised in Nebraska and so was my husband. My husband works at the clinic. If you search the directly at the local clinic you will find me and my husband. We have our birth location, our education, etc, in our profiles in the directory.

My husband knows the Frost family on a personal level. That is where I have gotten my information from. He has always wanted to be the head caoch at Nebraska. It IS his dream school. Yes the offer from UNL is real. Just not signed yet. Yes, Florida offered Frost and he turned it down for the Nebraska offer. Yes UCF will offer him a new contract. I already told you that will happen. He isn't going to sign it though. Yes TN got told no from Frost.

Talk to Mavric if you want to complain about the person who banned me when I never broke a board rule. I have never posted here in the past. Yes there are other Nebraska fans in town. I know three people in this town that are proud Nebraska fans.

No worries.  I'm simply pointing out the sheer absurdity of Pedro's statement.  It makes it sound like Scott Frost is skipping down the halls chatty Cathying it up with anyone who will listen that he's getting a bunch of job offers.
Lol. I’m laughing at your “Chatty Cathy” reference. I always thought that doll was a little creepy!  I totally agree with your outlook. Scott wouldn’t do that. He seems to be too principled to do something unethical? like that. Pedro-no offense. Like many of us you’re just sharing info.

Jessica is in all of us, and we have all been in jessica?

Gruden is absolute football savant. I’m a Buccaneers fan and watched firsthand as he won a Super Bowl and kept that team relevant despite a cheap and completely inept ownership group. He eats, breathes, and sleeps football. If a college team could get him signed, he would be a rockstar head coach. Between being a sports celebrity and his personal charisma, he’d leave Saban and Meyer in the dust on the recruiting trail. Can you imagine him in living rooms convincing moms to send their kids to his school?

So I get why his name is always in the mix. If a school could land him, he’d be an amazing head coach.

7 year deal. Sign me up.

Why leave florida state for Texas A&M?

I know a guy who had carol frost as a discus coach in high school.  He’s a Dr and also did Jessica’s prostate surgery.

He says Frost is definitely coaching football next year.

Agreed. Petersen is probably one of the top 3-5 college coaches in the country. And based on personality and character, I’d prefer him to snakes like Saban and Meyer.

I'd put him in the same category as Saban and Meyer. But between the 3 of them, Petersen seems like the coach that I would most want to play for. The other two come across as crusty and egotistical. Petersen seems far more relatable and down to earth, which I think makes him the tip coach in the country even though he doesn't have any rings.

Florida is a diverse state with lots of different parts. Miami and Pensacola are like different countries. Gainesville is more like Georgia than the rest of Florida. Similar to Blacksburg in how the town revolves around UF. I lived there, there is absolutely nothing else to do anywhere near Gainesville.

Tallahassee is a little different than the rest of Florida, I can't speak with much certainty about the makeup. But the two older programs have lots of older fans that show up.

Orlando is the northern border of the tropical climate. So Orlando and everything south is more what you think of with Florida and even that has a lot of difference between coastal towns and inland.

Basically, beach people don't go to games. You see that in southern California and central-south Florida. So even Miami, that has had a ton of success and a decently long history can't pay people to come to games. You see it with every school in the tropical part of Florida.

Jacksonville should be more like Gainesville, but I think its too new and they generally suck.

Just my opinion. But I've lived in Tampa, Miami and Gainesville areas and that's what I saw.
That all makes sense to me. The one that would be similiar to me as the Orlando area would be USC in LA. Tons to do, tons of distractions. But they roll in 73k every week.

Obviously they have an established tradition and being a fan gets passed down to their kids who also attend and so on. But at some point UCF has to get consistent in that attendance if they want to take the next step.

I would love it if we got a press conference scheduled for tonight. Frost comes out and says in lite of the fact we already pounded Memphis once this year, I am not too concerned about distractions. So we are officially announcing I will be the next head coach of Nebraska. Oh by the way where are my runza fries

FFS can we stop with the same repeated thing he said.

1. What do you expect him to say in that situation? He handled it how every coach in that position handles it.

2. It’s busch league of that reporter to ask that question and put him on the spot. They are looking for him to flat out come out and say “Hey I’m staying here.” Which he won’t do because he won’t or he’s trying to renegotiate his contract.

3. Again that question shouldn’t be asked. It would be like Sip asking Riley if he’s heard the rumors he’s being fired.

Relax.
You better watch yourself buddy! I know a few people who think prettt highly of the particular brew around here.

Tennessee fans seem to think they have landed Chris Petersen. I’ll be disappointed if he’s available and we didn’t pounce on him. He’s an absolute all-star and an even better get than Frost.

Their AD was up in Washington this past week, so they think he was there talking to Petersen... instead, he was likely talking to Leach.

I think he'd be amazing too, but he'd have to prove that he can build relationships with HS kids and coaches... I think he would do really really well, but until he proves that he can, it's hard to justify $7 or $8m per year on a guy.

Do most Buc's fans regret firing him? I know his team's kind of stalled out in the end, and sometimes fresh faces are necessary, but that has to be one of the worst decisions in the history of the NFL.

Was looking ahead at Friday after Thanksgiving's schedule. Will be nice to be able to see Scott Frost's UCF/So. Fla game on ABC. (That is a sentence I never thought I would write regarding a Husker Game Day.) I thought it was funny, on the graphic attached, that the UCF game has the highest ticket prices (by a long shot). NU/IA is 3rd, in that category.

Technically, the Memorial Stadium game is still a sellout (correct?) but I'm a little worried about how full the stands are going to look that day. (First time I can ever remember having that thought run through my mind).
